What's your plan for keeping the shrimp fed? I would love to know as I have always wanted a pair but I couldn't figure out a good way to keep them fed. They look great!

    Put my 1st fish! Temporary!

Well said. I would also like to add that when a fish grows slower or stays small it is not adapting but rather it's growth is being stunted, which is not only unhealthy, but in my opinion is rather cruel.

    Put my 1st fish! Temporary!

I'm just saying that it is generally accepted that these fish require at least six foot tanks to thrive. I checked several online vendors, all of which had minimum tank requirements for a hippo tang at 125 gallons. They don't just pull these numbers out of thin air. I'm not saying he couldn't be...

    Put my 1st fish! Temporary!

But the point of an aquarium is not to keep fish alive, it is to have a happy healthy environment. The hippo and sailfin in my opinion get far too large for a 55 and a yellow tang is stretching it. In response to the fact that people have kept these fish in smaller tanks successfully I say: just...

They don't give tank size requirements but they do give length. What length should I be looking for, or does it matter? The smallest I found was 2"...

    Small hillstream loaches?

Are there any species of hillstream loach which are readily available that I could get away with putting in a dedicated ten gallon or is that too much of a stretch? I have looked but haven't found anything so I was wondering if someone else knew of any. Thanks in advance!

I was wondering whether oceanic tech tanks are still made, because I can find them on oceanic's web site but not anywhere for sale. Does anyone know if the are still sold?

There's a little place in greenfield called animal crackers, which is where I usually go. They are pretty small though. Other than that nothing I know of that's close. :(

Start of my first saltwater tank

I thought you had nixed the six line. It can be if you put the six line in last but you might not want to risk it. Just another option as I think flashers are beautiful and cool.
