You might check out a double tube strip, they're like 40 bucks at Fosters & Smith. The 29 gallon is a bit tall and the extra tube would boost your light output. I have that over a glass versa top.
It's such a tragic thing - thank god I don't use that brand. But it makes you think just how dependent we are on other people for our safety. Every time you open a can of something, or a jar of baby food, anything processed, you just never know.
There's more antibiotics in the water table than in a pharmacy nowadays! My LFS guy said that people were starting to ask him to stock medicated food so that they can use them as a preventative - what nonsense. I would be interested in that article too.
Help - I just moved along with my 3 tanks and have lost the booklet with all the instructions for the various tests in the Aquarium Pharmaceuticals Freshwater Master Test Kit. I have all the cards, bottles and tubes but NO BOOK. I thought that the bottles would have it printed on them but no...
Most antbacterial handwashes and soaps are just alcohol, there's no actual antibiotic in them. But you're right, soap and other residue on your hands will make its way into the tank.

I also would like to add that it might be a good idea to make sure whatever you use is level since you plan on having that size tank. I had a really bad experience with stress on one side of my 55 gallon on a stand that was not level.
Black neons school nicely - i have relatively hard water and keep a group of 7 along with some von rio tetras which are very pretty as well. They stick together most all the time. I'm also a huge white cloud fan, they become very pretty and color up when they're taken care of and comfortable...
Huh....I must have a pacifist rainbow shark, he leaves the cories alone in my 55g. He's about 1 1/2 yrs and 6 or so inches and the cories are teeny barely an inch(can't get em to grow!) Do you think it's their small size?
I agree with pcktlnt - if you provide a hidey hole type space for the shark, he'll pretty much just act like a grumpy old man chasin them away from his yard. I have a rainbow shark in my 29 gal with his own home and another in a 55 gal. with some driftwood too call his. They both will only...
