How much sand does everyone have?

2years... I would not risk it. If you have algy problems its not the sand, cut back feeding and lighting. And honestly look into a algy turf scrubber.. they can do wonders for a tank. Also they are cheep and a good diy project Sent from my SCH-I605 using Aquarium Advice mobile app

    Average price.

I just got a 135 rr tank with stand, canopy, and a 30gal sump for $300. Check your local reef club site. I would not pay over 500 for a used tank.

Do I need to hang LED lights?

This is not true, it all depends on the angel of the lens, I have a single fixture over my 48" tank 6 in above the water and it lights up almost the entire tank. LEDs spread just fine

Do I need to hang LED lights?

On a 24" deep tank the standard is around 6in for that fixture. The best thing would be to have a canopy on top of the tank that you could mount then in

    125 gallon upgrade

I know right? I'm just glad that I will now be able to give my tangs the room they deserve. Currently I have a yellow tang, sailfin, and a powder brown tang. They all get along great, they are currently around 3in to 4in in length. The new tank will be greatly appreciated.
