Why doesn't my API test kit have a nitrite test in it?? It has a nitrate test.. My nitrates are at 10 should they be zero?? Makes me wonder about nitrites now...

Found two feather dusters that appeared in my tank.. Bot are about the size of a pea.. One is all white, the other is all black/brown with white/grey bands.. Is there any name for these or is there just a lot of size and color feather dusters.. Also they are on live rock, not building their own...

I'd like to get rid of the stock lighting of my 14g biocube.. Currently it's 10,000k and a actinic. I believe theyre called compact florecents.. I don't mind the price. I just want a fixture that looks nice, make colors pop, and doesn't limit me to what I can grow.. Any help or suggestions...

Was about 3/4" long 5 months ago. Now almost 3 inches. My guess is some sort of clam or oyster or barnacle. I noticed it opens about 1/8" and I can see dark soft tissue inside. It's sitting on an old snail shell for better pic view.. Any thoughts??

Don't get me wrong, all things in sw are crazy cool looking. But my tank is not so much dedicated to coral and fish, more like crabs, shrimps, sea urchin, feather dusters, sea squirts, etc. Can't have a starfish or a seahorse.. I tend to like the stuff that is active and moving. Anybody else...

Started with live sand. 5 lbs live rock. Premixed water from lfs. Perc clown all the same day.. Been up and running for a month now. First saltwater tank attempted. Check out the pics. Comment and questions welcome:)
