    Large feather duster was doing fine for 2 months in new tank. Did 10% WC on Monday. Feather duster left it's tube and went into a hole. We could see it in there yesterday but it was closed up. Today we checked again ad there is no sight of it.

    I agree. I am going to start the water changes. I think definitely has something to do with it. I am probably not exporting any of the nutrients. I have some old salt from about 2 years ago. Should be OK? I am going to mix in a few gallons of the distilled water.

    Not really worried about the tan stuff in the tube then. It's hidden underneath. I am going to buy the test kit today, and try to get a 20%water change this evening. I'll post the results and go from there. Can't believe I am having so much trouble getting started with the fish.
