yeah pretty rude, definitely cheaper to drive there and get it, I considered that too, we're a couple of hours south of Sydney but the drive with 2 young kids was so appealing I decided I'd prefer daily water changes for a while :)

I decided the same thing, especially when I saw the postage. We ended up taking some of the substrate, filter medium and water from our yabby tank (those things are grotty so plenty of bacteria there!), ran the tank for a few days then started slowly adding fish. No there were only a few other guppies and a small school of neon tetras in with her and I had never seen any of them be at all aggressive. it was a neat little hole, looked like a tear in her skin (which is what makes us suspect the filter). Just thought it was best to check if there were any...

We eat a lot of fish here, in fact when my daughter was 1 we took her to an aquarium in Sydney and she kept saying "fish! Yum!" lol kept the tourists entertained.

lol Ken, unlikely seeing as it is truly the local shop here - about 3 mins from my house :) generally they seem pretty good but some of them are just plain clueless, I guess you'll get that, especially with the range of pet stuff they sell, some are bound to know nothing about fish.
