This is off topic I suppose, but does anyone know if this would work for an aquarium its pfs, but I don't know what silurian means lol "SAND, SILURIAN FILTER APRX 50LB"

I set up my 10 gallon for a breeding tank, I plan on switching the gravel to sand though, just so its nicer, and its stocked really well with silk plants, so there will be lots of hiding spots for the babies... then if I dont want them mroe prego I'll probably separate the male, let them finish...

yay! Im excited for babies! ... Just not sure If i want to deal with 3 sets every month lol. Oh well we'll see how it goes

Just an update, After talking on here I went to town and was busy for a few hours. when I came home its like she was popped. I dont know if she had some babies in the community tank ( who are most likely eaten by now) or if it was something else, shes a bit tubby still but not swollen like she...

oh, my platies are with my betta and neons, anyways nope, I only have females so I guess shes storing

also, I may just not have noticed her getting bigger... I noticed she was a bit pudgier about a week ago, but thought nothing of it, then didnt really inspect again

should I put her in the separate tank now then... or will she get lonely

well I have 3 female platies that I got between 1-2 months ago. Anyways one seems to have become like a balloon overnight... do you think she's pregnant, or sick? Yesterday was my day of the week where I dont feed them, so I can imagine she got bloated... but any ideas? I've read they can hold...

Bubba died yesterday :( Just thought Id let you guys know :( He had a rough go since the beginning, was always sick so its nice to know he isnt suffering anymore... still miss him :(

could the spray paint have somehow gotten into the tank, or filter by chanceÉ

so I just checked the bulbs, and theyre SO HOT, they got the metal casing around the cover super hot too... will it be ok, or do I need to get a different kind... sorry for all the questions!

just make sure to change the water daily while its cycling since theres a fish involved! :)

Hey welcome to AA! I agree with eco23, I made a mistake of fish-in cycling... had to change 25 gallons of water a day (I have a 50 gal)... it was too bad I hadnt done research before-hand. Youre sure to learn a lot from everyone on here :D

Since its only a 5 gal, I'd suggest just a betta. you could start a planted tank and make it really pretty!

it'll be fine :) as long as the filter is still running so the water isn't just getting stale and covered in grime

k well the lightbulbs I bought aren't made for aquariums, and it says not to put near moisture or water... should it still be ok since the bulbs will be completely safe from the water/moisture, but still near it?
