In my opinion, a 75L (~20 gal.) tank is a bit small for two Pearl Gouramis. I think it may be doable, however I would not recommend adding many more fish if you just have the two Pearls in the tank for now. I like to keep Pearls in a 110L (~29gal.) or larger aquarium.

Is there any chance that you forgot to dechlorinate the water you added it? This could have killed some your beneficial bacteria, thrown off the cycle and started the mini-cycle you are experincing. Keep up the good work with the daily PWC's until the tank stabilizes again.

I've always fed mine pellets, the most important thing is to vary their diet. I give mine pellets, bloodworms, mosquito larvae, and a pea occasional to help with digestion.
