    That's what I figured but I know they will breed if conditions allow. You didn't say anything about the synodontis catfish.

    Thanks I will update as soon as they go in!! One more thing, how many fish is to many fish in this tank? Since they spawn when conditions are right, at what point to you scoop out the babies? Or do you remove the adults and start over?

    I just set one up as well. The only thing I know is that I changed my substrate to a crushed coral that is better for Cichlids and removed my live plants as i have read they tend to uproot plants. I would look at doing a canister filter as well. Maybe add a Fluval 305. Once cycled I would say...

    (6) Electric Yellow Cichlids (6) Electric Blue Cichlids (6) Red Zebra Cichlids (5-6) Synodontis Catfish Any ideas other than this let me know!! I love the catfish they are active and love the markings!! As for the Africans they are full of color.
