But how can the algae grow with out nitrate? Isn't it supposed to die off? I scrape it off the glass and scrubbed some of the rocks but it just grows back. Is it because my tank is not fully "matured"?

I don@ have sand in the old one I have crushed coral but I have been putting some in a bag and putting it on the sand. So all the water has been cycling for two weeks its new water with some old like I said before. I think I'm just going to fill the rest of the tank (about 15-20 more gallons)...

I have had six flag fish and now I'm down to one but he is about to die. They will get really skinny first. I know there are parasites that can make this happen but its only happening to the flag fish. I also have killies, angels, kribs, saes, a catfish, pleco and they are all fine

His eyes have looked like that for a few days.I did a water change today so we shall see the results soon. He is about 4" in a ten gallon. There was a tank cleaning due to bba so the good bacteria has not had time to set in.

I have a sick black gold fish it has white spots. It's not ich tho I know what that is and its eyes are cloudy. The white spots look I guess like cotton in a way.
