    I need some lighting advice

I stumbled into a bunch of 21" 55W 7100K Realux brand daylight compact fluorescent bulbs. I couldn't pass them up at $4.99 apiece at a surplus store. I keep a 125 gallon community tank with Java and Christmas moss and a bunch of Platy's, and some other community fish. What I need to know...

Dr. Bombay, Dr. Bombay, emergency come right away!

I've really screwed up and need some help. Already lost my clown loach and want to protect the rest of my guys. 6 days ago I moved a 75 gallon tank to a 125 gallon tank. Previous readings were PH 7.4, nitrite 0, nitrate 40, temp 76F. After carefully moving my livestock to buckets with siphoned...

    Moss ID help needed

I got this stuff from a guy but didn't get a positive ID on it. I think the stuff on the right is Java Moss but the hairy stuff has me stumped. It's a big hairy clump. One of my Platy's got caught tight in it and and died. Any ideas what it is would be greatly appreciated.

will this keep my baby ghost shrimp safe

I am wanting to have a Ghost shrimp safe aquarium. It is a 29 gallon tank with an Aqueon quiet flow 30 hang on tank filter rated at 200 gph max. I know the free floating babies would be pulled into the intake stem so I covered the stem with two garni bags which are pretty fine meshed, then...

low PH in ghost shrimp tank

I have a week old 29 gallon tank I set up a week ago with ghost shrimp who seem to be doing well. They are eating, seem healthy and happy. I used substrate from a well established tank and have a hang on tank and a little heater set at 76 degrees. I checked my water parameters for the first...

    new ghost tank questions

Hi guys. I moved 2" of substrate and 10 gallons of water from my 75 gallon community tank into a new 29 gallon tank. I did it so I could move my ghost shrimp into the new tank and they formally hid all the time to keep from getting eaten. The new tank has a hot Aqueon filter, a heater set on 76...

    Hello from Oklahoma

Hi guys. Don Elder here from Broken Arrow OK. Here looking to learn and share what little I know. Lots about nursing but much less about fish. I am in the process of upgrading to a 75 gallon tank from a 30 because my plecostomus grew up!
