As long as the drain end is lower then the input end you will have a siphon going. It will always drain. If the sink side is higher then the tank side, it wont siphon. I always lay mine out the door and start the siphon. WOrks well. And waters the flowers. :) Ronnie

Sounds like you have it figured out. Best of luck with the filter. Mine leaks sometimes. Thats why I have it sitting in a plastic 5 gallon bucket in the stand. Doesnt matter if it leaks a drip every now and then.

The Fluval 404/405 is a good filter imo. The little black thing may be gone or its simply stuck in the lid. if you can look up inside there you would be able to tell if its there or not. If its gone, the impellor would indeed not move like it should. When I prime mine, I usually get a few air...

Well... I floated the bag for 30 min or so, then poured couple oz water from tank to bag every 5 min or so for 20 min. Then I very gently put net in bag and moved it over to tank. The other angel I added same time is doing fine. I didnt check levels this am, but yesterday evening all were...

It was floating lifeless. I thought was dead already. Then I watched it for a bit. Fins were moving, it was just like it was floating thru space. That is about the best description I can come up with. Ronnie
