Just wondering what everyone's favorite test kit is and why. I am currently using the Nurtifin master test kit and I don't think I am happy with it.

It is a 55gal with 50lbs live rock. Crushed coral substrate. I am running an emperor 400 filter, a Prizm skimmer, 2 maxi jet power heads (1 400 and 1 1200). I have 2 Ocellaris clowns, 1 3 striped damsel, 1 blue devil damsel, 1 neon dotty back, 9 snails, 2 hermit crabs and a sand sifting...

    Ph Problem

My Ph seems to be stuck around 7.8ish. Any ideas what I can do to raise this to a more appropriate level? I have tried perfect Ph and it is ok for a couple of days and then it falls back to 7.8. Alk is usually around 120 to 130, and I use instant ocean salt. Any help would be much appreciated.

    New filter help

Currently I have a 55gal aquarium and I am running an emperor 400 bio wheel filter. From what I hear these are not very good filters for sw setups. And from my experience they don't seem to clean debris from the water very well. Everything (fish poop) seems to settle to the bottom of the...

    Any Ideas?¿?

Nope it closes up tight and you can barely even tell it is there after the lights go out. Also it dosent stay in one place. It used to be on the outside of the rock, then it dissappeared, then it reappeared where you see it now.

    Any Ideas?¿?

    Any Ideas?¿?

This thing came on my liverock. When I first put the rocks into the aquarium, it crawled into a hole in the rock. I assumed it died in there, but here we are 3 weeks later and it reappeared out of nowhere.

    Cycle Q?¿?

I should also mention that last week I had a small outbreak of diatoms that has since cleared up. To my understanding this is something tha generally occurs after the cycle has completed.

    Cycle Q?¿?

Also aside from it comming from an established tank, it also came with the same fish. So I am assuming it is still supporting the same bioload it was in his tank. Right??

    Cycle Q?¿?

My tank is almost 3 weeks old now and I have yet to see any traces of ammonia, nitrite or nitrate? Is this normal? I currently have ~50+ lbs of live rock, a 3 stripe damsel, a blue devil, a neon dottyback, 2 hermit crabs and 9 snails. Now before I get yelled at for having this stuff in my tank...

    What are these??? (pics attached)

Could this be a possibility? This is the description from the website: "When I look in my tank at night, I see many very small snails all over my rocks and glass. Their shells are no more than a 1/2 centimeter across, round (not conical), and have a checkered pattern. There are alot of them...

    What are these??? (pics attached)

Any information I have found on sundial snails (Heliacus sp. snail) seems to point to the fact that they are black and white. The creatures in my tank seem to be pink/purple and white. Is is possible they are some kind of worm all curled up??

    What are these??? (pics attached)

Don't sundial snails eat "zoos"? If so how do I get rid of them??
