    25g cube - scooter blenny

Oh no. I'm afraid this doesn't have a happy ending! I fed him last night and he ate and seemed fine. But this morning he's just gone .. nowhere to be found. It's a 25 gallon cube so I can see pretty much every square inch if it. I have a small 6-line wrasse that never bothered him before but...

    25g cube - scooter blenny

Update: I moved the little guy into a 2 gallon tank I have and taught him to eat frozen. He actually begs now. ..it's really cute. So I moved him back into the bigger tank and he's still eating from the turkey baster. He really likes blood worms. I mix mysis in with it so he gets some of that...

    Help with clam please

Yeah he seems to be doing well so I think he's happy. I pushed a bunch of sand under him so he's a bit more upright but it seems like he should be all the way upright.

    Help with clam please

Hi. I have a clam (crocea) that I placed in the substrate in front of a piece of live rock. He got himself on his side and has started to attach to the vertical surface of the rock. Should I try to remove him or put something under him to level him out? Here's a pic. Thanks so much.

    25g cube - scooter blenny

I just got home with some live brine and he's gobbling them up. I know they're not great nutrition wise but at least he's getting something. I'll feed them along with frozen stuff and hopefully he'll start on the frozen. I also have a little 2 gallon that is established with plenty of copepods...

    25g cube - scooter blenny

Hi. I'm a little concerned about some info I'm getting from my LFS. I have a new 25 gallon cube with live sand and live rock that was fully cured at the LFS and put right into the tank. It's about 3 weeks old. I was told that the live rock is already filled with the bacteria so there's no need...

    Good inexpensive second filter

A sump does seem like the way to go especially for overcrowding. I have a "fish" friend coming over on Friday to help setup a small reef tank. I'll ask him about helping with a sump. I'll check youtube too. Thanks!

    Good inexpensive second filter

That's a great idea. I never thought of anything other than a canister filter. I have aquaclears on all my smaller tanks and I love them. Any reason why it wouldn't work as well as a canister?

    Good inexpensive second filter

Yeah that would be a huge savings but I am so not a DIYer. I'd end up flooding the house or something. I was thinking about maybe an Eheim 2215 or 2217 - I found a 2215 online for $101 with free shipping. It says it's good for up to 92 gallons which I thought might be ok for a second filter...

    Good inexpensive second filter

I'm turning my 90 gallon community tank into a cichlid tank and want to add a second filter. I'm running an eheim 2075 now and thought about adding a second one but I'd rather not spend that much. What would be a good second filter option that has the most bang for the buck. Thanks!!

    Pim Ornatus with African cichlids

Yeah I should do that. I always shy away from online fish purchases. I'm not sure why... I've gotten other things like lizards but I guess I would save alot of money if I went that route. Thanks!

    Pim Ornatus with African cichlids

Hmm excellent point. Why risk it. Money aside, it's not fair to put either the cat or the cichlids into that situation. With all the $ I spend in this hobby what's another couple bucks : )

    Pim Ornatus with African cichlids

I do plan on getting juvies so maybe that'll work. And my lfs said they would buy him back (for $20 and I paid $60 ugh) but it's a plan if he's getting picked on. Thanks for your help.

    Pim Ornatus with African cichlids

I posted this in cichlids but didn't get any responses. Maybe it was in the wrong place. Thanks for any help.:) I have a 90g community tank that I'm going to turn into an African cichlid tank. I'd like to keep my 5" pimalodella ornatus catfish though. Can he hold his own with africans (mbuna...

    Gravid?

Yeah I don't want to do that to any of the tiny creatures. If I stir it up from time to time instead will that help?

    Gravid?

What should I be doing with the sand bed? I don't have any experience with saltwater. I got this little tank already put together at my LFS. Its my favorite tank (i have 4 FW tanks) but I really don't know what I'm doing. And my LFS doesn't help much.

    Gravid?

This shrimp is gravid right? She's in a 2 gallon tank with another shrimp, some hermit crabs and a few corals. I know the fry (is that what they're called?) won't grow to maturity but without fish to eat them will they pollute the tank or will the other things eat them? Thx.

    That's great news. Thanks everyone.

    Are these dead?

There's also a feather duster that I think is alive because there's some movement when I gently squeeze him but he hasn't come out in about 2 weeks. Is there anything I can do for him or just fix the salinity and wait? Thanks!

    Are these dead?

Thanks for the responses! Wow. I was sure they were goners. Ok I'll get the salinity to the right level and hope they get better. Is there anything else I can/should do?

    Are these dead?

I've had a 2 gal pico? tank for about 6 months. I had a salinity spike recently that I think killed a Kenya tree and an anthelia but I'm not sure. I've fixed the salinity but I don't know if it's too late for these guys. The salinity was at 1.030. Its been at 1.023 for about a week but they...

Dwarf puffer in a large community tank?

Yeah I think you're right. I'll have to come up with another plan. Thanks.

Dwarf puffer in a large community tank?

Hi. I have a 90 gal with various tetras and barbs. I recently added a pair of kribs and I think they've killed a couple of fish (I haven't witnessed it but it seems too coincidental). I have a 10 gal with a single dwarf puffer in it. I'd like to move the kribs to the 10 gal but don't have...

    Disaster Averted..... almost

Around 78. I don't think it was a heat thing as much as it was the fact that warmer water contains less oxygen.
