Do any of you know if an airstone filter can temporarily take the place of an above water filter? I would like to put the old filter in the new tank to cycle it faster and I have an airstone laying around. Would it be sufficient enough and for how long?

So the move went well. All three of my pals are still alive and kicking. They did get tossed around some on the trip here, but I was trying to drive as carefully as possible. :P They're currently in their tank on the kitchen counter. haha There's only substrate, the filter, and the heater, so...

Yes, it's new sand. I won't have a hose at the new place because it will be an apartment (there's a hose where I'm at now). If I rinse it now, will it be okay to sit for a few days? We move Saturday. If so, what would you recommend doing with the rinsed sand? Like, where should I store it...

Update: Betta is still laying very limp at the bottom of the tank, on his side. When I went to feed my corys, he layed on their food o.O The corys tried to push him out of the way but it was almost like he was paralyzed...he struggled to move and just went in small circles. ): I finally figured...
