What's the best way to "install" purigen into my 90 gallon

I am going to be purchasing some purigen to place into my aquarium but am a little unsure about how or where to put it. I have an eheim 2215 + 2217 + a penguin 350 filter running on my 90 gallon. Where and how would you place the purigen into the system in order to be able to access it easiest...

Current Satellite LED Plus thoughts or reviews

Any thoughts or opinions on this light? I am thinking about purchasing this light on amazon shortly in the 48"-60" size. It would be for a standard size 90 Gallon tank. Currently I am using a double tube 36" fixture. The Bulbs that are in the double are stamped All Glass Aquarium but I have no...

Very quick tank transitioning question(kinda dumb)

I am transitioning my 65 gallon and will be taking everything out of it and moving it to a new 90 gallon. I was at my local dollar store and saw a child's beach shovel that will work excellent for moving the substrate from one tank to the next, so I bought for a $1. My question is, is there any...

would this be too much filtartion on a 90gallon?

Hello, I am setting up a 90 gallon very shortly. I currently have a eheim 2215 and 2217 that will be running in this tank as well as a marineland penguin 350. I am thinking of adding a second marineland penguin 350. Is this too much filtration?

Do you lubricate the o-rings in your eheim canister when cleaning?

This grease really is the Cats A%! in my opinion. It is non toxic, certified by the NSF for incidental food contact and is completely non water soluble so it doesn't leach (sp?) into your aquarium water at all. It just stays put and keeps things lubricated and sealed. Completely safe for...

Covering air pump with towel to dampen sound. Is it bad?

I think I will try that. You are the second person in two days that has said they do that. One of the staff at the LFS said he does the same. Sounds like it is worth a try.

Do you lubricate the o-rings in your eheim canister when cleaning?

Hello, I am currently running a eheim 2215 and will also be running a 2217 in a short while once I upgrade to my 90 gallon from my existing 65 gallon. I am wondering what others do regarding the o-rings that are part of the canister system. Mainly the top large o-ring and the double tap...

Covering air pump with towel to dampen sound. Is it bad?

Delapool, I wouldn't say that there is a lot more water circulation but I would say the is a lot more surface agitation. I was running a eheim canister only at the time and the spray bar is located about an inch under the water and angled down somewhat so without the air pump running there was...

Covering air pump with towel to dampen sound. Is it bad?

Hi BBradbury, I am using air pumps for two reasons. A little while ago I actually removed the air pump. Not long after that I had fish gasping etc. and checked my water parameters. I was expecting a high ammonia spike since I had just disassembled my eheim canister for cleaning. It turned...

Covering air pump with towel to dampen sound. Is it bad?

I have a few air pumps and while not loud per Se, they can be somewhat annoying. I tried folding a towel up and gently laying it over the top in order to somewhat insulate and dampen the sound. It is still able to breathe but the sound has reduced quite a bit. Is if bad to do this for any reason?

what type of output end do you use on your eheim classic canisters?

Hello, I have obtained a used aquarium setup that came with a 2217(600) eheim classic canister. It did come with all the parts except I may need just the rigid little 90 degree elbow to assist in attaching the small piece of hose between it and the spray bar. When at Big Als, the...

So I have soaked my plants in bleach.... Now what?

JessiNoel21, It sounds like from your response that you also use bleach to clean your plants. Is your procedure basically the same as mine? Do you find that the plants have a whitish tinge on the leaves when dry but look fine when they are wet? Have you ever had any troubles cleaning this...
