    dawn/dusk light (on for 1hr before and after main lights come on/off) 25sec exposure (it really isn't anywhere near as bright as it appears) . . . during the day . . . spot the new decoration (my otherhalf chose/bought it)

    Update: I went for pre-paired pair of Rams 1 small Angel fish (it is smaller than the Rams) 6 platys (2 male 4 female) :fish2::fish1::fish2::fish1: I'm very happy with the few I got, bearing in mind I want to keep a happy tank I think it looks fantastic with some colour in it at last :)...

    yep I'm still on fishless cycle...my moonlight will only be used for a few hours in the evening..then total darkness overnight and through until the main light comes on on the timer

    I've only just bought the 48" one....don't have room for anything larger without major interior redesigning I'll go for an Oscar again in the future I'm sure and I'll have a much bigger tank for him :thumb:

    yeah I see what you mean :facepalm: tons of fish to mention I have in mind the smaller American Cichlids, I will pop along to my local Fish store for some inspiration on Friday afternoon (finish work at 13:00) :thumb:

    from reading around on the internet I'm beginning to think maybe my new tank is not big enough for Oscar in the long run (from what I'd read in an old Oscar keeping book, a 4ft tank would be ideal.....obviously opinions change over time) so considering giving him to a new home and maybe go...

    I will be moving my Oscar and pleco into a new tank in a few weeks once cycling has finished I have had Oscars before but never kept them with other breeds of fish (apart from pleco's) what other species should I be looking at? thank you all in advance :fish1:

    just signed up...I have recently returned to Oscar fish having spent the last few years with freshwater community fish my new tank just getting the temp right and put some established media from my other tank in the filter since taking the picture (on Saturday) I have bought more substrate...
