    Hanako It's a nice story :) The article was written in 1966 but Hanako died in 1977, theres a little note at the bottom So it's a long term commitment when buying koi lol

    Actually koi can live for alot longer...... a koi called Hanako lived for 226 yrs, in the pond he was in all the koi were around 150-200yrs old

    Dekeyseria pulchra I think, i think they are a type of ancistrus or zonanctistrus so they're mainly vegetarian. just give is zuchinni and other veges and some driftwood and it should be fine :) EDIT: or hikari algae wafers, they've worked pretty well for my pleco's

    Looking for a Centerpiece Fish

    Red finned flagtail prochilodus, appariently they will have a little nibble at weaker plants but wont touch anubius etc. I have heard they will eat ALL types of algae as well. They get to about 35cm and are nice and active. Can be aggressive to its own kind though.....

    How aggressive actually are these fish, some people say they arent aggressive at all and other say their psycho.... Anyone have any? How aggressive are we talking? Jaguar/red devil aggressive? would they be okay with a full size bristlenose?

    what kind of pleco was it?

    yeh definetly sound like the Hillstream loach, theyre pretty hard to keep, If you have any other plecos or anything then the hillstream will probably be starved :( there a bit finicky i've heard theyre also called "Borneo suckers" in the lfs's here.

    It can also be a good idea to keep a bit of the old gravel wet and chuck it into filter bags or stockings, then place the bags half burried or just on top of the new sand, the you can remove them after a week or so.
