No secret. Just good lighting. 2x18w with DIY co2 No tabs or disingenuous at all. ADA Aquasoil is phenomenal stuff.

Never have to touch the soil. I have 2 nerite snails and about 30 red cherry shrimp that do a great job keeping in clean.

what are you using to diffuse the co2?

@Halfmoon About 5 weeks. I trimmed after 3 weeks and it took off like wildfire. The CO2 definitely moved things along. 12 hrs of light - T5 2 X 18w Lights on from 7am-7pm Oxygen on 7pm-7am

The day I put the DIY CO2, it started pearling like crazy the next day. I love Aquasoil. I wouldn't use any other soil. I know there are a lot of great ones out there but this stuff is great. I also had a bad Algae bloom the 1st week but the Nerite snails cleared that up by week 2. I am doing 12...

Just wont grown in that gravel. Check out the thread "MY AQUASCAPE" in this forum. I just posted it. I'm using Aquascoil Amazonia II and in just 3 weeks its carpeted nicely
