    Beard algae

Thx for the pics. It gives a much better idea of what's going on. The algae could be coming from a multitude of reasons. To start you could test your tap water to see if there are any potential irregularities like high phosphates. Also how often do you do your water changes? Do you use any...

    Beard algae

This is where people post up pictures of their tanks so that's why you probably not getting any answers. Try and post your threads in the right places to get the right help. Funny enough it was a severe infestation of bearded algae that got me to redo my goldfish tanks into heavily planted...

    Should I... or shouldn't I?

Plants are amazing. It just looks great and benefits your tank in multiple ways. Important thing is to really research the plants u will buy before u do. I spent more money on going through plants rather than fish. Plants, like fish, will behave differently in different environments.

    24 & 29 galllon planted

Thx guys. Me too I love planted aquariums although I have a real obsession with heavily planted tanks. Worse thing is I never remember the name of the plants so I can't remember the red one I had. I have taken more recent pics which will show I had to replace it cause I trimmed it too much. It's...

    Fish that eat snails

I have had snail issues in both my 24g and 29g tanks. The rate of the reproduction was alarming so I did need to do something about it. I got a Pakistani loach for the 29g. He did a great job but I do have to feed him now that there are no more snails. That's something to consider but he is a...

    Co2 injection

That's interesting you say that because I am about to buy a bulb online and they recommended a 6700k for freshwater. The coral life comes with a 6700k and the new aqua life is 6000k but is specifies that's it's for freshwater. Interesting stuff. Something to consider hardcore... Again in my...

    Co2 injection

What do you mean by gas off? I thought that an air stone would release the co2 that's in the water and nullify the whole process ??? So in the new tank at what ratio would I b starting it off b4 I head towards 1 bubble per second. And in my present tank of 8 seconds per bubble I slowly start...

    Co2 injection

And another question is should I then just start slowly increasing the co2. How do I know when to stop? I should check my ph at the same time right?

    Co2 injection

Holy shmoley 3 bubbles per second!!!!!! I had it at 8 seconds per bubble LOL! Are you sure about that? Don't forget it's only 30 gallons. Sorry I'm just so shocked. So here's the deal, in my present tank of 30g I have 19 tetras, 1 dwarf gourami, 1 yoyo loach, about 6 shrimp and 2 octocincus. The...

    Co2 injection

Well where do I begin. I've only had the tank for almost one full year. I've gone through my share of plants in the process but I'm not very good with the names of the plants which is not good on my part I know. I know I got some ferns and anubius. I basically was told that I would need co2 from...

    Co2 injection

I was hoping someone could help me with co2. I have a 30g heavily planted tank and I am putting co2 in there but I can only really tell if I'm putting too much or too little by checking the ph with my ph pen. At the moment I have it at about 8 seconds per bubble. Someone mentioned to use a drop...
