I find it easier to remove eggs as soon as make has stopped fertilising them. Usually pretty much straight after laying. Move eggs to another location(providing you can move the leaf or spawning stone etc) keep at 80 degrees and a little meth blue will help fungus from any unfertilised eggs...

What others fish do you have in the tank. Sometimes they will eat them. If they spawn and u have time, u can remove the eggs or remove the parents, as they aren't needed after the spawning, as long ur willing to do a little work with the eggs ur self.

I breed mollies platys guppies angels etc and found out of the livebearers, the mollies are the best at NOT eating their fry. Guppies and platties eat them without any hesitation.

I have guppy, Molly, angel and platy fry together. Really must sort out my fry tanks!

Sooo excited. Bettas breeding now!!!!

My bettas are finally laying/breeding. After 2 weeks of fun, games and fighting, this time I brought them together a hey presto. Very graceful together mating, entwined and almost in slow motion and recommend to anyone. Fingers crossed we get baby bettas!!!

Just read this post. I have a gorgeous red male and darker red/ purple female. Both adult. Done everything suggested on net. Female in a trap within his tank now, I've got floating plants, upside down lid, 80 degrees etc etc. make builds tiny bubble nests so I let her out and they get interested...

Looking good zp. My survival rate dropped off a bit. Also lost some of my 3-5 week batch. Think my air flow was too strong and causing to much current and lost a few small ones. Having a go with bettas just now!

Only move them once the male has stopped fertilising them. This is usually an hour or so after. U will always get a few white/unfertilised eggs. Try and remove them to stop fungus spreading to the good eggs.

Safar. U just need to move the leaf or move the adults. After about an hour or so after laying the male loses interest and will stop fertilising them. At this point just remove adults or eggs.

Mine laid last night. Discovered who the egg thief is. It's the male. Caught him picking at the eggs nd the female going crazy at him. Eggs moved as well now.

The corys won't bother them and the tetras will have a pick at them if they get the chance. Have a look at 'my marbel angel . . . ' post. Gives loads of good info. ( parents may or may not eat them!!!)

Have many fry tanks all until recently healthy. I have 2 tanks now that I'm losing fry, 2-3 per day. They are mixed ages 2-4 months. Fry seems to stay at bottom with rapid gill movement. Don't eat and then die. Sometimes poor condition starts to show on tails etc. it has effected mollies...
