How can I get rid of and prevent the white crust from forming on the top of my tank. Ie on the hood, Bligh's housings, and filters... its a pita to clean and looks dingy.

Well tank is stable I'm going to change somewater this weekend and go back to my weekly/byweekly cleanings and see how it goes. Fish are looking awesome eating well and getting all their colors back.

Watch Craigslist list, you can get a yakima rack with towers for under 200 and as long as they are the Q towers and u make sure yakima has the clips for ur car they are all interchangeable. I just sold a yakima set up from my wrx for 150.

so even drift wood just scrub it down with some hot water and scrubby, maybe soak it a bit and your good to go? that sounds way easier and cheaper then buying it, that stuff expensive and i got a house on a lake to grab it for free!

ok ill do a 50% tonight or tomorrow and see what i can get out of it. im going to have the LFS test my water again to see how its doing. and just because i feel like a retard after this, how often should i suck out my gravel and do a complete cleaning once im back up and stable??

what is needed to be done to rocks/drift wood taken from nature to prep it for a aquarium? i know somone said they had some stuff from vermont in their tank.

ok, ill change more water then when i do the water change tonight and see if that helps. should it be a reletivly quick change in a amonia after i change the water?

im not using strips, i dont know the name but its a complete test kit, it uses a powder then drops to test the ammonia. i dont want to change to much water at one time at this point as its finally clearing and dont want all the good bacteria thats starting to grow to dissapear again...
