    75 gallon stocking

Oh, okay. I forgot about that part. The first time, there were only a few total, so that wasnt to be worried about. Thanks for that. :) So the clowns and firefish first, probably the goby next, and then the angelfish followed by the wrasse?

    75 gallon stocking

So, the finalized stocking (at least for fish): 1 Coral Beauty 1 Red Head Solon Fairy Wrasse 1 Engineer Goby 2 Ocellaris Clowns 6 Firefish Everything sound good? And would there be any territorial disputes if they were all introduced in the same day?

    75 gallon stocking

I really enjoy how the cardinalfish look, very distinct, but I suppose i will just do a small school (5 or 6) firefish instead. Thanks for the input everyone!:thanks:

    75 gallon stocking

Can i do both? Like three of each? Or would i be overstocked then?

    75 gallon stocking

So down to two clowns. I had initially wanted to do a red head solon fairy wrasse, but was told they were picky eaters. Thanks for the tang info, the last thing i want is another ich infection, because thats what caused the first crash. Would a red head solon fairy wrasse be an okay replacement...

    Starting a saltwater tank

I started with a 29 two years ago, thats about as small as i would recommend for saltwater. Just a couple months after starting the tank i upgraded to a 75. I would say about 50 gallons is where the fun possibilities begin. What kind of saltwater critters were you considering in this adventure?

    75 gallon stocking

After a tank crash several months ago, I believe it is time to start re-stocking my 75 gallon display tank. Though the tank will not be a "reef tank" for quite some time, I would like the inhabitants to be able to coexist with corals, if this transformation does occur. So far, the desired list...

Thank you all for the quick responses, I will definitly look into the ro/di from bulk reef supply. :thanks:

    RO/DI Unit

Hey all, starting a new 75 gallon build, converting my 29 gallon tank to a refugium, and going to try corals for the first time. For filling a tank this large, it seems impractical to do anything other than purchase a RO/DI system (though I am open to any cheaper solutions). Can anyone give...

How do you catch a mantis shrimp? HELP!

I never had much luck with the traps with my tank, i had to get mine out by hand. When the lights go on in the tank, look for which rock he scurried into and move that rock (quickly!) into a bucket or similar device. Then you can wait for him to come out, or do as i did and take a turkey baster...

ALGAE ISSUES - new to SW

The bubble algae is easy to remove, but I am sorry to say the hair algae is a bit harder. I have had a 29 for over a year now, and i still have to spend some time in there with a toothbrush once a week. It is claimed nudibranchs will help, but in a tank this small they would do their job too...

    Advice For Decorative Algae?

29 gallon tank, one percula clown, two blue chromis, one sandsifting star, one convict worm goby, one peppermint shrimp. As far as plants/rock. I have about 30 lbs of liverock and some feather caulerpa. I would like to add some soft algae/coral, but am fairly certain I cant sustain coral... I...

Cycled my 30g. FOWLR with damsels what can I put with its?

Damsels are vicious fish. Sad truth of it. However, they are a great beginning fish for sw. I reccomend blue/green chromis for a first fish. They wont outwardly attack any fish, but can hold their ground if bullied. I started my tank almost a year ago with three, one died right off, but the...

    mantis shrimp

I had a peacock mantis arrive unexpectedly in some live rock during my tank setup. I only read from websites that said they kill all fish, so quickly killed it (and half my live rock:facepalm:) In the breif time that it spent in my tank, it was burrowed into a the rock, but it waved its plumes...

    Fish Only Saltwater Aquarium

I agree with the sand over crushed coral. I have about four inches in my tank, and it looks great, its easy to place your rocks in, and is totally easy to clean. The crushed coral often got debris in between the granules, and was nearly impossible to clean.

    Who/What is Harlequin?

Okay, thank you all for helping me out with that, I got confused after seeing so many different critters (marine and not) named "Harlequin".:thanks:
  20. W

    Who/What is Harlequin?

I understand this is less about aquariums and more about marine biology in general, but this is my best source. I have realized that several marine species are named after "Harlequin" (Harlequin Tusk, Harlequin Shrimp, Harlequin Rasbora, etc). I tried looking him up, and found nothing about the...
