    Tank Bookshelf!

Sounds like an awesome idea. About how many shelves are going to be on this bookshelves, and how big are these tanks are going to be? Weight's going to be a big concern. I'd definitely support the shelves with some metal. Also what floor is this shelf going to be on? There will be a ton of...

    Barb Tank Idea

Any good Southeast Asain aquarium plants that are easy to take care of? I want the tank to be as close to nature as possible

    Barb Tank Idea

Wow, I didn't see the price tag on them... Jeeze. At least I'll have some time to budget something in. Would I have a problem with interbreeding?

    Barb Tank Idea

I'm still pretty new to aquariums and everything, but the more I learn the more fascinated I become. I sat in bed last night thinking about everything I can do to make a dream tank or the tanks I have any better... Seriously becoming an obsession :) Anywho, back to the topic at hand. I was...

Is it worth persueing with a 29L tank?

Hi Andy, I would definitely keep the tank. You could do the neons or even a betta would be nice. No sense in getting rid of perfectly good equipment :) :Welcome: to AA

    New Guy!

Darn, I seem to be slow on the send button this morning :) I love the fish choice myself. I've never had any, but the look real good. You planning on breeding?

    New Guy!

Welcome to AA! First things first, you know about the nitrogen cycle and cycling the tank and all that stuff?

    Foam?

It's a grocery store brand. Clear, potent, shook it and no bubbles, open and it smells like cat urine. Water change showed immediate results and then I thought 'hmmmmm, I'll try an experiment' took a gallon of water, shook it, no bubbles. Then, I put the dose of conditioner into it, shook...

    Foam?

 Good Point I'm going to try the 75%pcw without the water conditioner. There's no chlorine in my tap, so I'm mostly using it as a slime coat

    Foam?

I think there may have been soap in it at one point in time... :( It did that too me a couple weeks ago, so I completely drained the tank, replaced the sand, the filter cartridge, and rinsed everything else in scalding hot water. Everything was soaked in vinegar for a couple of hours...

    Foam?

And we have foam... Yay. Don't worry the Gatorade bottle was clean, and even if it wasn't, I didn't even put the water back into the aquarium. I also attached a bottle of the conditioner I used

    Foam?

It does bubble whenever I test the ammonia. I did buy an API ammo liquid test kit because the test strips I bought doesn't have an ammo reading on it... I didn't notice I guess because it is only 5mL of water. I'll try on a larger scale though. As far as other fish in the tank, I was...

    Foam?

Update: foam's still there, I didn't do any water changes after dosing the tank with the clear ammonia. Lost my job (I have another lined out) so all expendable funds right now are on lockdown. I was wondering if I could cycle my tank using the tap water I have, knowing how terrible the water...

That's what I thought was going on. I'll just keep doing what I've been doing

    Identification Help

Thanks, that really did help. Great resource if I'd ever decide to stud him out :) I love his color pattern. You can't really see in the pictures, but he's blue next to the fins, red everywhere else, and kinda iridescent

Yeah. I had no idea about cycles or anything like that. He was an impulsive buy, but he seems to be doing great

    Identification Help

Bought a little betta from walmart about two weeks ago. He was in an unlabeled container, in less than an inch of crud riddled water. I mean, it was bad. I couldn't let the little guy die like all the others on the shelves around him, so I went against my better judgement and all the advise...

    Foam?

Thank you for all the advice and links, I'm sure it'll all help once I get a chance to process all this information, lol. It's a lot to take in, of course, I have some time before my tank cycles to study and figure out my game plan.
