    Need live rock ID help...

sounds like your algae grazers are just doing thier job. As for the orange growth, it's really hard to tell from the photo. Could be sponge, could be coral, could be hydroids. I'm gonna toss out a guess that it may be a type of filamented type of algae. Just a guess though.

Looking at the area you have circled, it looks like a chiton. Harmless algea grazing hitchiker. Enjoy him.

    Will a dwarf lionfish eat a 1 1/2" fish? also a clownfish/stocking question

They are beautiful fish, but very territorial. Rather you should get rid of them or not is up to you. I can only suggest your next fishes be something that can fend for itself against them. Something larger and/or more aggressive. Another thing that may help is to QT the damsel while the new...

    Will a dwarf lionfish eat a 1 1/2" fish? also a clownfish/stocking question

The lions, even a fu manchu will find the 1.5" fish tasty. They have no problem consuming a fish as larger or nearly as large as they are. They are gulpers and greedy. As for which is best, I would go with the dwarf lion. Fu manchu's can be finicky to get started. Your crabs as you said, would...

Is this algae good to have?

I agree it looks like hair algae and you'll need to get your excess nutrients in check to get rid of it. Pretty typical of a newly cycled tank. The bottom circle in your first pic, if I'm seeing it correctly, it looks like it may be caulerpa. This is bad only if you let it get a sure foot hold...

Need to identify! Newly aquried live rock

I agree the first looks like a pest anemone. The second photo looks like a stoney coral, maybe Cladacora. If this is what it is, it is not photosynthetic and will need to be moved away from bright lights as well as fed a good bit to survive. The third pic looks like it could be some type of...

Need ID on LFS seastar species

Maybe it has something to do with the size of your system Mike, and the fact that it's been established for so long. Or, maybe you just have the magic touch :)
