    75 gallon tropheus filter size?

I've got a 75 gallon with about 15 tropheus. Should I go with a fluval 406 , fx4 or fx6? I like to stick with the fluval brand as I'm happy with it over the years. Any input?

    UV sterilizer

I've got a few tangs in my tank. They used to get ich every few months. I've set up a big uv sterilizer. The flow is very slow thru the sterilizer. I've had no ich in at least 2 years. I do think the uv sterilizer helped. My opinion. But many will disagree

    Rodi water for freshwater setup?

I'm setting up a African cichlids tank. Since I have a saltwater tank as well I've got a rodi water unit. I'm wondering if I can use that water for the freshwater setup? Or am I going to miss out on some minerals because the water is too clean?

    Led blue setting look?

So I just bought 3 LED units to replace my 250 watt halides. I really like the blue look. I turned down the whites to 20% and blue at 100. The questions is will this affect growth or do any harm to the corals?? I only have lps, softies and a few RBTA. I know blue is used allot by corals but the...

    LED advise for reef aquarium

So I'm having a 125 6 feet long saltwater setup with LPS and softies and a few SPS. I'm running 3 250 watt halides and 4 T5 bulbs. I want to convert to LED halides. Which is a good brand of LED fixtures for a reasonable cost which would compare to the par of halides. Sent from my iPhone using...

Want to go saltwater is it hard or not?

It's not hard. You just need to be dedicated to it. Keeping an eye on your water parameters and adjusting to what is needed is important. I would say it's more expensive than hard. Sent from my iPhone using Aquarium Advice

Feeding an anemone mussels from the beach?

They don't need it necessarily but they do grow faster and bigger with some supplement food. Living creatures enjoy the occasional food supply Sent from my iPad using Aquarium Advice

    Carey's New Years Tank(s) Update!

I personally run all jebao return pumps on my aquariums. They are powerful, very quiet and not too expensive. I wouldn't run another return pump again. Sent from my iPhone using Aquarium Advice

Feeding an anemone mussels from the beach?

There is better high quality food out there. Even local grocery stores will have some shrimp or raw fish to feed the anemone. I wouldn't take the risk of spreading decease in my tank. Sent from my iPhone using Aquarium Advice

    Water change

Depends on your filtration. You've got allot of water volume. On my 40 gallon I do 5 gallons a week , on my 10 gallon 40% a week but on my 150 I only do a water change every few months. I dose everything and run phosban, biopellets and run a heavy duty skimmer. My parameters are dead on. No...

    Angelfish with coral

20 gallon is by far too small for an angelfish. Even a dwarf angel. My flame angel has been a model citizen. But I did have another one which loved my corals. Sent from my iPad using Aquarium Advice

Upgrade Time (125 gal Freshwater to Saltwater)

Yes it is easy. Just get a really good hole saw for glass, keep the water hose on it and let the bit do the work. A good glass bit is definitely not cheap tho. Sent from my iPad using Aquarium Advice

    Fish list

Clearing the tank depends on your filtration system. A bit of filter floss helps to clear the water. Make sure to clean it often tho. It's a nice size tank. But it's a tall tank and allot of bigger fish need length to swim. The extra height does mean extra water volume which will help with the...

    Cycle fish death

I just started another reef tank. It's been cycling for a month with no fish. Now I can gradually introduce a few crabs and snail. No fish for at least another 3 weeks. You definitely added too much fish too soon. Start slowly with one fish at a time. You can't rush a saltwater tank Sent from...
