    Clown not eating

Fish passed Sadly he passed away today. He seemed to loose his coloring in the last day and began swimming sideways and shortly died. When I took him out I noticed that he had like a puncture hole or ulcer in his side. I didn't have the heart to open him up though.

    Clown not eating

My maroon clown is 8 years old and has never been sick, but in the last 3-4 days he stopped eating. He normally eats mysis shrimp really well. There are many other fish in the 55gal reef tank who are all doing fine. I did add some new fish and coral about 3-4 weeks ago. I also had fed a few...

This just started to grow all over

They do not move. I know the pic isnt perfect. It was as macro as I could get. They look like slightly less solid/calcified versions of the underside of my red monticap.

    Glass tank lid removal.

I got it off w a really thin putty knife. For some reason the guitar strings wouldn't really do it. ( I used the hi E). I'm placing bracing around the edges and it seems fine. I think the glass is so thick it doesn't even matter!!!

    Glass tank lid removal.

Oh ok. Thanks Ibrahim. I guess I'll slowly work at it. If I can at least get the left side off I'll be happier.

    Glass tank lid removal.

It is mega thick. I was thinking of taking off one side and placing a bracing strip, then doing the other side. Do you know the best way to release the top without killing myself? or is it just get a wedge under an edge and slowly work it up? The glass wants to chip when I started that...

    Glass tank lid removal.

I have a 46" by 28" by 12" glass in the wall tank. It was made 10 years ago by somebody else. The problem is that they placed a glass lid glued to the top w silicone w a ridiculously small 19"x9" opening. The glass lid is made up of a few strips of glass pieced together and cemented w clear...

New York City (Five Boroughs) LFS

Hey there. Im in Brooklyn too. There is manhanttan aquariums at 522 West 37th Street New York, NY 10018, which is cool and new, but a little on the more expensive side. In Brooklyn there are a bunch out on Flatbush near kingshighway, all are a little funky but some are better than others...

    lighting questions

Hi. I am slowly converting my FOWLR tank to a reef tank and I am now coming up to proper lighting. I read this link and it blew my mind a bit! Aquarium Lighting; Reef, Planted Light Information. PAR, Bulb, Watt, Kelvin, Nanometers, MH, LED. OK... So my tank is 46" x 28" x 12" (in the wall)...

    Constrained space refugium....

That has been a worry of mine because I dont have 20 inches of space. There is only about 10 inches of space above that side . I have more overhead space in the other chamber, but does it matter if the skimmer is in the overflow side or the return? The power is all set.

    Constrained space refugium....

I posted about my tank before, but I've been reading a bit on here and have some ideas I thought i throw out there for you guys to pick apart. I "inherited" a SWFO 61 gallon tank which is built into the wall. There are 4 somewhat aggressive fish in there which seem pretty happy. There is...

    Washing Sand!!!

I took Carey's advice and washed pool sand. A lot of work... but it only cost 5 dollars for 50 lbs! Its nice and clean now... ready to go in the tank... :)

    aggresive fish :(

So... I have a undulate trigger and a Soldierfish/squirrelfish as well as a unidentifiable (by me) damsel and a clown. These were all fish that were already in the tank when I got/inherited the tank. I have a 65 gallon SW tank that I want to eventually either add other fish, invertebrates...
