Another question. I have never bought online but have been thinking about it. What advise can you give me about buying live fish online? Any reputable stores?? Anything to look for? Thanks!
We have recently upgraded to a 55 gal tank. The fish have been living happily in there for about 3 weeks now. We are looking to ad some color to the tank. We currently have 4 Australian rainbows, 2 orange Mickey mouse platys 1 silver Molly 1 kissing guarami & 1 other guarami. Any suggestions to...
Remember seeing something a long time ago about this but I couldn't find it. My rainbow has something on his bottom lip. It looks like a piece of food or something but it's abt the same color as the fish and it has been there for at least a full day. Anyone know what it could be?
I didn't get very good pics cus they are good lil hiders but last Thursday we had platy babies! We are pretty sure we have 9 but it seems like every couple days we count 1-2 more! Lol.
These were taken Thursday:
YES! are the bigger ones males? We asked for all Females but idk the girl had any idea! We have 2 larger bodied ones with more color & 2 more slender ones that are more green in the fins still.
After researching to figure out what mine is, I'd say it's pretty strange too! Seriously, how is one supposed to know how to properly take care of a fish if I'm not even sure what it is? Owell, for now just more Internet research & enjoy them!
So my hubby went to get new rainbows from the same store so they would be the same fish tonight. He brought them home & either they are totally different rainbows (store said Australian rainbows) or they are much older because they have much more orange/red color where ours is still only green...
At this time I'll have to say no. Only because I have NO IDEA how to ship a live fish. If you were local I'd say yes for sure! I'd hate to ship him & end up killing him!
Thank you for explaining. I was curious as to the harm it did to the Pleco. You explained that very well. I will be looking for a new home for him ASAP. :)
Ok good to know. I know one of my friends is definitely big enough. But it also made me think of our local library's 10 gal (guessing). They have a Pleco that is probably 3x the size of ours! Poor thing!!
No need to appologize. It's not like you are the one who told me it was ok! Lol. Will it be ok for a while at least? Or should we immediately pass it along? I have no idea what to do with a live fish! I've only had to get rid of dead ones! Will pet stores take them?
Thanks! Not to second guess but how sure are you? The only reason I ask is because when I was looking I also found a few different ones it could be. I'm no fish expert tho so maybe there is a tell tail sign that I don't see. :)
I was encouraged to post some pics to find out what type of rainbow I have so I would like to find out! :) here are a couple of pics I could get. I would like as much info as I can get especially about schooling. Thank you!
I forgot to answer your question. I have 1 male & 1 female of both my mollies & platys. I have no idea when it comes to the rainbow. :(. That is another concern for me.
I'm not too sure of the kind of pleco. Right now he's hanging out inside the castle so I can't get a pic. I've wondered about his size tho because I've seen some in other tanks that were HUGE that looked just like it. Can you tell me some of the kinds that would fit well? I'll try to get a pic...
