I am getting into SW. Is a 160 gallon(72"x24"x24") tank with a 40 gallon breeder for my sump too big for my first tank? I want to have both corals and fish in the tank. I want mainly soft corals but might get 1 or 2 hard corals.

for the last 3 weeks thewater pH has been sitting at 7.4 but it jumped to 8.0 three days ago and is staying there. pH out of the tap has been 7.4 since i got the tank. it only jumped in the aquarium

I have A20 Gallon tank in the middle of its Nitrogen cyle. My nitrite levels are really high. I have been doing 3 - 4 50% water changes for the past 4 days and the levels still aren't dropping. Is there something i can add to the water to reduced the nitrite levels. I have already been...
