    Removing Clorox from Purigen

After noticing that my purigen was dark brown, I have decided to "recharge" it for the first time. I googled and saw that people have used Clorox to recharge purigen. I bought a bottle of concentrated Clorox and soaked my purigen in it, though my purigen is whiter that I can remember, how do I...

it depends if he has lights/hood. And depends what kind of filter since that is very important.

    Fluval C4 filter leak

I I would clean the filter media in tank water every month to avoid any leaks. Filters may overflow with water when your filter media is clogged with all the gunk and poo.

    65 gallon with african chiclids

Well it depends what cichlids you have. There are some really aggressive cichlids within the "assorted cichlids" and they are usually incompatible with peacocks because peacocks are typically very peaceful.

First SW Tank for the summer!

Thanks. In that case I may want to consider a 29g biocube without lights and get my own. Are there any metal halide strong enough for the tank to give me maybe a 7.2watt/gallon? How are LEDs lights in comparable to MH?

First SW Tank for the summer!

I was told the HQI lights are actually metal halides. I don't have the exact specs on it. But would they give me good options for a 29g?

    Dwarf chichlids

I think kribensis are one of the most fascinating fish to start with. They are easy to breed and definitely one of the most hardy fish

    Rocks for fish tank

I honestly would never try using a sponge that had been in contact with dawn soap. I have heard of bad experiences of the chemical in contact with fish.

    Filtration

I honestly am not an expert of the pros and cons. But I can say with an aquaclear, it is very flexible in regards to what you put in it. I have a large sponge, filter floss and a bag of crushed corals in it. It is also very flexible with my eheim where I store most of bio stuff. I think...

    Filtration

I never had an issue with my eheim 2217 but if you were choose, I would pick AC110. I am running an AC110 and eheim 2217 on my 55g and my tank is really clear.

First SW Tank for the summer!

Thanks! How would you describe the lights that comes with the biocube 29 HQI? Would I be limited in regards to anemones/corals?

Anywhere for a female electric yellow lab?

Sometimes stores sell large cichlids obviously at a higher price. But you can vent them or ask the store to vent them for you.

    25 gallon cichlid stock?

There are some African cichlids you could include such as dwarf cichlids. As you mentioned rams are dwarf cichlids are would swim happily in a 25g. Another dwarf would b kribensis, one of my favorites and much easier to care than rams. Though I have to admit that rams are much prettier.

    How do you know?

Regardless, you cannot expect a filter to decompose waste. Waste gets sucked up in the filter and stays there. And they can only hold so much waste until the nitrate builds up in the tank.

    How do you know?

Waste does not magically disappear if that is what you are hoping for.
