Along with the small 'white dot' copepods and 'C' shaped amphipods, I have what seems like MILLIONS (ok.. slight exageration) of these little guys all over my glass, rock and sandbed. They are about 1/16 to 1/8 of an inch long, have antennae and legs that splay out in all directions. They...

A few questions prefaced by a tank tragedy (very long)

I have an Oceanic 37 gallon semi-cube with an Orbit 24" pc compact hood. The setup was a 2" sand bed, 40 pounds of live rock, 3 green chromis and 2 false percs. I had 1 zoanthid colony, 1 colony of green star polyps, 6 astrae snails, 5-6 nassarius snails and 5-6 blue legged hermits. Back in...

    White podlike creatures

Are they crustaceans, like some sort of small shrimp things, or are they more like little spiral worm-type things... If they are the spiral worm things, I've got them on my live rock and parts of the glass I can't clean. I haven't noticed any in my sump yet, but I'm sure they are there also...

    Need Pods Pods Pods

If you can obtain a starter culture, you could try farming them as described at this website: http://www.seahorse.org/library/articles/copepods.shtml says it takes about six weeks, but it could be a good backup source for live foods. I think I'm going to give it a try :)

    What are these?

sorry I don't have a camera, I'll try to describe them the best I can. I have noticed these white spots on my rock and glass (about 1-2 mm in diamter) they apear as white spots with a curly-cue worm inside.. could these be baby snails or something different?

    Upgrading Tank and Moving livestock

Super! Thanks for the advice guys! I'll collect the supplies and give this a try. but first.... Any ideas on stabilizing a tank stand on some semi-soft carpeting? :) the tank is basically a 37 gallon cube 24 inches wide by roughly 20 inches deep.. the stand is about 30-36 inches high...

    Upgrading Tank and Moving livestock

I'm upgrading from a 20 gallon to a 40 and was wondering about the best way to go about moving livestock. My 20 gallon has been setup for 4 months with livestock and 45 pounds of LR and a 4 inch sand bed. Should I setup the new tank and cycle it first, or can I just mix an extra 20+ gallons of...
