So Indo Scoly? I have 4 T5 HO ATI bulbs (2 coral plus and 2 blue plus). Coral is roughly 12 inches from bulbs. Is this sufficient? If not what do I feed? Thanks.

    Hammer Coral

I have a couple hammer corals that both slowly start to invert when the moonlights come on (around 8:00 PM). When I get up in the morning around (6:00 AM) moonlights still on they are fully open and extended. I have yet to see the tentacles. Is this normal behavior of hammer corals? Need some...

So you think it's bad? I don't want to kill anything unless it's bad. You know?

Haven't bothered it yet to see if it retracts. I'll try that.

Looked at some images. Doesn't seem like a brittle or serpent. Anyone else?

    Refugium

Right. So if I just throw the chaeto in the section with the JBJ light that's good?

    Refugium

My protein skimmer would be a HOB skimmer so I wouldnt be worried about that. The section I am talking about would be strictly for the chaeto and light. But I could add sand or rock. Just trying to get suggestions. Thanks.

Ok so and sand bed is ok? The area is 5L x 24W x 5D. Kinda weird. I know. But it's what I have to work with.

    Best 65G HOB Protein Skimmer????

Anyone else on top of the line HOB protein skimmers?
  17. Mpolizzano

    Refugium

I see. Bad experiences. I'm going to start with a size of a tennis ball. Go from there. Worse case scenario, it doesn't work out. I'll try something else.

    Refugium

Looked into that. I can't have tangs in a 65 gallon. Will keep it in mind though. I've heard as long as you have sufficient flow and lighting chaeto should be fine. Why couldn't you keep yours alive?

    Refugium

I think I can do the piece of liverock or some rubble and the chaeto. Then the JBJ macro glo fixture above it. Sound ok?

    Refugium

Want to start a refugium. What do I need? Chaetomorpha and a light? Sand? Rock? I've been looking at the JBJ 25 watt macro glo light fixture. Any thoughts? Opinions? Thanks.

I was suggested the Reef Ocotpus BH800sbs but I cannot find any reviews on it.

    Best 65G HOB Protein Skimmer????

I have a 65G tank (36L X 24H X 18D) and am looking for a really good hang on back protein skimmer. Reef Octopus BH800sbs, hydor slim skim, aqua c remora pro? I know of these but are there any suggestions for anything else? Top of the line? Obviously keeping noise and bubbles down would be key...

    65 Gallon Reef Tank

Yes I've been thinking about a watchman goby. That could be one of the next fish I get.
  24. Mpolizzano

    Is this skimmer any good?

Carey, I'm also looking into skimmers. Looking forward to what you use/find. I have a 65 gallon.

Base rock to Coraline and frag growth.

Sweet. So the protein skimmer you have you like? I'm looking for a good hob skimmer for my 65 gallon.
