    Awesome idea -> Stand sump

    Sorry you found my comment "rude". It is inconsequential. The OP is not thinking of using sheet pond liner. And I do agree that fiberglass and epoxy resin would be best. Liquid pond liner as far as I have researched is similar. All I was stating is that IMHO rubber pond liners and clawed...

    Awesome idea -> Stand sump

    I don't want to sound like a ....jerk, but even if the OP was referring to rubber sheet pond liner, the wear and tear from an "alligator pond" vs a sump would be drastically different! Can't imagine any knowledgeable fish/and/or/reptile ceeper thinking that using a sheet of pond liner would...

    stocking suggestions?

    Hardest part was plumbing the waterfall but even that was just drilling out a hole through the foam and running the tube up through it.

    stocking suggestions?

    Filtration is built into the rock formation and plumbed through the waterfall(basically just a pump with floss jammed around it). Lighting is for now just a 48" double t8 shop light and heater hasn't been necessary. Temp has stayed between 72-76. Once I get some anoles I will add a UV basking...

    stocking suggestions?

    Really wasn't that difficult to make a tank like this. Basically just like a large scale diy 3d background... Foam board covered with cement!

    I think we have a winner! I love the little kuhli loaches! Such a "cool" little fish! May do some killies with them

    stocking suggestions?

    I would never claim to be an Anole or reptile expert but I'm 99% sure the anoles won't drowned. At least 50% of the 55g tank is land plus branches and such. When I was much younger and still living with my parents we had an aquarium for many years that was simply split 50/50 land/water and we...

    Pretty sure I've decided on a few Anoles for the land portion of the tank.

    stocking suggestions?

    Thanks all. I currently have a couple Raphael cats in another tank so not interested in them. Not sure I like the banjo cats. Spent some time researching and I'm leaning toward a group of synodontis petricola(neat little cats that I've kept before but not in many years). Any type of cichlid...

    Thanks. Any other small cats other than cory's that could work? Even maybe not for life?

    stocking suggestions?

    With all the space taken up by the diy rock/ land formation probably only around 20 gallons.

    stocking suggestions?

    Finished my paludarium about a month ago and I'm about ready to start stocking it. Looking for suggestions please! Open to any and all! Thanks

    My 210g...scape is pretty raw but not much I can do with the resident!

    Just curious, what exactly is a Chinese sh!tbox?

    Crate aquarium

    Not really sure how it will work with that small of a setup by I basically just played mine inside and 300 gallons worth of water pressure kept it in place

    Crate aquarium

    Ohhh...okay...back to my previous post then...buy a tank. Create some fake rough cut timbers with wood and frame it in and leave yourself a viewing window...doing it the way I did will end up costing a bunch of unneeded money because most of the supplies needed can't be purchased in small...

    Well...depending on your house. I made that landscape timber pond so I could disassemble it and reassemble in my basement for the cold winters. So technically you could fit that 300+ gallon tank in your house!

    Crate aquarium

    Well...in that case. I would suggest buying a tank of whatever size you want and framing it in with wood. And on the filtration side...I would STRONGLY suggest some kind of mechanical and biological filtration no matter what kind of fish you decide on keeping.

    I'm slightly confused about this thread now? Is $budget$ the issue, or do you just like the idea of a wood tank? Why so against filtration? Really quite critical...

    Ohhhh geeeez...look on craigslist. You can probably find a deal on a 30g for under $30...or wait for Petco to have their $1 per gallon sales

    That all sounds about right! I actually didn't even use that thick of plywood though. With the timbers in place I didn't feel it was necessary.

    Crate aquarium

    I'm not really certain on the final cost. It was a couple years ago and being tight on funds I bought stuff over a few weeks. Landscape timbers discounted pre-garden season. Cheapo pond liner from eBay. Probably no more than $150 but that's obviously not including diy filtration which I...
