    Turbo-Twist 3x / 9 watt UV Sterilizer

I have mine mounted underneath the aquarium. Yours should have come with some mounting brackets for this. i originally had it set up on the back of the tank but hated the way it looked. When I had a canister filter I just hooked it up on the return. But now with my tidepool I have a seperate...

    A background for marine tank?

I had my local hardware store tint some primer to blue because I was worried about regular paint sticking. I put several coats on just to help resist scratching.

    green chromis

I have 7 in my 75 gallon and I think they are good fish. They are cheap, tough and easy to care for...but get more than one.....he might hide a lot if he is by himself.

Any body else using BIO wheels?

I have a 75 gallon with 93 pounds of live rock. I have a Tidepool II with a huge biowheel in it. I didn't buy the tidepool because of the bio-wheel, I feel the LR I have is probably enough for biological filtration, but I left the bio-wheel in because I believe it is a good product. I have yet...

    noob here

I know this really has nothing to do with your question but you might want some more live rock. 30 pounds for a 75 gallon aquarium is low...especially with all the fish you will probably have in a FOWLR. I have about 93 pounds plus a Tidepool II, which has a huge Bio-wheel in it. Plus more live...

    Stocking ideas

I started my tank just over 2 years ago. A 75 gallon with about 93 pounds of live rock. The rock was from a local fish store so it was already cycled. The first thing I added was 6 green chromis...waited a month, added two clownfish...waited another month, added a blue hippo tang....waited...

    Limited Budget, new tank

I have to agree with seaham on this one. I originally purchased a Prizm skimmer for my 75 gallon because it was inexpensive. It was rated up to 100 gallons(i think). I'm finding out it just isn't doing the job, plus its a hang on which bothers me more than I thought it would. Now I am looking...

    Limited Budget, new tank

The initial costs involved with setting up a saltwater aquarium make the idea of having a limited budget nearly impossible. Maybe you should look into getting a nano cube. There are many interesting things you can do with those.

    Fighting Marine Velvet

I had a case of marine velvet in my tank. Time is what you need. You have to wait for the parasites to kill themselves off, by way of going through their lifecycle without hosts to propagate reproduction. I waited almost 6 weeks just to make sure. Its rough I know, but have patience. Keep an eye...

    Turboflotor Skimmer...how good?

I curently have a prizm skimmer on my 75 gallon tank but really need to upgrade to a larger one and would like to finally have one under the tank in the sump where it would be out of sight. I hear the Turboflotor is a great skimmer. Was looking for somebody who has hands on experience to either...

    Suggestions for this BIG problem?

Re: two pieces of LR, no substrate yet. I also plan on adding a UV sterilizer next month, hoping that that helps at least a little with the algae growth. I had a friend who had a problem with free floating algae. The UV sterilizer he bought cleared it right up. Of course, I don't think his...
