You could always try plants to out compete the algae for the nutrients.

It would be a bit too small. My cons are evil and attack anything that comes near it. I prefer cons in a large tank where they can have a terratory all their own.

Are any of your fish eating feeders that remain too long?try more oxygen in your tank and limestone ..maybe in the gravel as a mix after washed....to help remove amonia. hth daddyo72

For future reference, the best scavenger I ever head was a bullhead, he was bulletproof and ate everything. He really wasn't interested in live food unless he snuck up on them or they were sick. For the most part, he loved garbage, the more you had the happier he was!
