    New frag

Thanks! Well, that does sounds quite expensive to me. However, I live in Florida so I might have better access to the corals than you do. I actually only paid $40 for my octo-frogspawn. They wanted $55, but I'm a loyal customer to the store I bought it from and I haggled with them. lol

    New frag

I bought mine already at a decent size. It has 4 large heads and one small head. I've had it for about 2 months now and I have definitely seen growth. I target feed mine twice a week with a turkey baster. Some say you shouldn't have to target feed, but it's been working for me. I also only have...

    new 29 gallon biocube...

I also have a 29g biocube. If you have the biocube uv sterilizer it goes in the 3rd chamber attached to the return pump and out put nozzle.

    Loc-line Y Fitting for 29g Biocube

Has anyone had any experience with modding the output on their Biocube with the Loc-line Y fitting? I've read limited posts in other forums about doing this mod, but I was wondering if anyone else here had attempted it. I've already upgraded the pump to a mj1200 so I know it will have enough...

    Torch coral

    A mixture of both.

    Torch coral

I target feed once a week w/a turkey baster. I've read about the sweeper tentacles coming out at night too, but I can't remember if that pertained to torches or frogspawns. Either way I have both a torch coral and 2 frogspawns and all 3 of them close up at night. lol

    29g Biocube Over Heating Issues

Hmmm well I'm not sure why you're experiencing diatoms. How old is your tank? Are you experiencing any dead spots in the tank?

Nice. Something I will definitely keep in mind.

    29g Biocube Over Heating Issues

No protein skimmer yet. How often are you doing your water changes and how much are changing? What kind of water are you using? Are you having a problem w/diatoms or just detritus accumulating on the sand bed?

    29g Biocube Over Heating Issues

Oh wait, do you have a bio cube or something else? Either way, they are all essentially the same.

    29g Biocube Over Heating Issues

I have the same tank you do. I just don't have an extra power head in there. I have found that with upgrading my pump and having my rocks in the center of the tank I have a really good circular flow. I only have a small dead spot on the sand underneath the output nozzle and a lil bit in the...

    29g Biocube Over Heating Issues

What's in the first chamber? Also, I see you have a protein skimmer in the second chamber...what's next to it? What protein skimmer do you use?

    29g Biocube Over Heating Issues

I do weekly water changes, but everything else is credited to my sea cucumber, sand sifting starfish and my fighting conch. I left enough room so they can get all the way around my tank.

    29g Biocube Over Heating Issues

lol. Thanks. I just took the video w/my iPhone. I need to charge up my camera and see if it takes a better video. Since I put the rocks in the middle of the tank I've got nice circulation going all the way around. I've got a lil dead spot on the sand underneath the output nozzle and inside the...

    Torch coral

I agree. I have a green tipped frogspawn, an octo-frogspawn and a torch coral. I think resembles closer to the frogspawn. Is it fully open in that pic?

    29g Biocube Over Heating Issues

My tank is brand new. Only setup for a little over 2.5 months. I removed the bio balls and the drip tray. I will be purchasing the media rack from inTank and a Tunze 9002 soon. That's a good idea to have the sponge filter ready to go. I was just wondering if anyone has had any experience with...

    29g Biocube Over Heating Issues

Thanks! When I went to my LFS I had the owner helped me pick out the rocks and form them into the u-shaped cave look. I took a ton of pics before we took it apart at the store, but as we all know it's nearly impossible to get it back to the way we had it setup. If your rocks are too big you can...

    29g Biocube Over Heating Issues

I've been following your posts on your upgrades. When you were looking into resolving your heat issue did you just got straight into deciding that you were going to switch out the lighting or did you or anyone else suggest just upgrading the fan? I'm just trying to see if that would be a cheaper...

Ok, thanks Carey! I just get nervous when I see it get close to 80 degrees. Do you have just the stock lighting?
