Hi i currently have a fluval 105 running on my 4ft turtle and fish tank and have just bought a new fluval 206 to run along side it, i was just wondering if i could just add the filter with all the new media with still using the 105 or if i would need to put some old media out of the 105 in it...

Im looking at changing my fluval 105 to a 305 on my 4ft turtle/fish tank as i am up to around 20 fish in there now and the turtles make alot of waste as well, am i right in thinking that as long as i put as much of the old media in the new filter i will avoid any problems with cycles etc?

One of my goldfish has just died this fish had dropsy around a year ago and looked like a pine cone and we where very lucky that she survived that but i think from that she had a low immune system and this latest problem with the ph has seen her off, just going to have to keep doing these 50%...

Has anyone ever used bicarbonate soda to raise there ph and kh? If so how much per gallon should i be adding as i am reading so many different things online about how much should be used, thanks

I use liquid for the ammonia and strips for the rest and there is 2 small koi 3" and 4" and 2 goldfish around 4", thanks

The fluval 05 range i think are great also the tetratec ex700 i have both and cant fault them

I do a 50% water change every week but as the filter was new i let it run for 5 weeks before cleaning. When i opened it up to clean it was fine no dirt really at all so now wondering why its so clean makes me wonder if its working properly. Thanks for reply

Not an expert on this but i would think that would be fine aslong as you get the temperature right and make sure none of the filters are left to dry out during the swop over as your good bacteria would die. Would also use both filters.Hope i have helped

Hi yes its simply put on a spoon... Does the job anyway. Had to remove the pleco tonight his fins where in bits and where all split the turtles must have attacked him and just dont know why as he has been with them for around 9 months now
