    Bristle Worm

So these guys came in on some live rock and multiplied quite a bit. I know they're bristle worms but im not sure which kind. More importanly are they harmful to fish or corals? I caught one of the clownfish trying to eat one earlier, so i hope they aren't poisonous. Any info helps, TIA!!

    Aiptasia or Duster Worms?

So i noticed these guys a little bit ago. I've been trying to look up some stuff to find out if this is aiptasia or feather duster babies. Ive never had coral in the system. I did however recently get a feather duster and beganto dose marine snow every 2 or 3 days. I count 5 in total. Let me...

    Swordtail Birth

Thats true, I've considered her eating some and figured it would probably happen to a few. But she really doesnt appear to have given birth to any of them

    Swordtail Birth

Well I dont have a testing kit for my freshwater aquariums, though i do have one for my marine aquariums, not much help i know [emoji28]. The tank was cycled before i put fish in it at all and its had them in there for about 4 ish months. I plan to pull out the fry and put them in a breeder box...

    Swordtail Birth

So this is my female swordtail. She looks ready to drop her fry and it appears to me like her birthing tube has descended. Only thing is she wont drop her fry. Ive removed the males from the tank and she is the only one left. She's showing all the signs of dropping, like hiding, squared off...

Can anyone tell me what this is?

Does anyone know what this thing is? It moves around really quickly and has gotten much bigger since i first noticed it. It seems to eat algae on the glass and is definitely nocturnal. He doesnt seem to attack the pair of clownfish in the tank. Thought i would share and see if anyone could tell...

    My new 20 gallon setup

Okay guys another update! Clowns are in! Ive always had a soft spot for ocelleris clowns so i went with a pair of those. They have been in the system for a while now. All readings are solid. However, nitrates are a bit high, the crabs eat nearly all the algae and keep the tank clean. The most i...

    My new 20 gallon setup

UPDATE: Hey guys, i know its been a while but i have an update for everyone. I went ahead and added a small clean up crew. 4 hermits and a nassarius snail. I can be more specific on the crabs if anyone really wants to know. They have been in the system for about a week, cleaning algae and...

New - Looking for fish advice for a 36 Gallon Bowfront

Yea, it all really does depend on what species you want to keep. I would start there and then decided how many fish you can add safely. The inch per gallon is a very rough estimate used to determine only the very basic and common types of fish. Like someone else said, the fish might be fairly...

    My new 20 gallon setup

Well its open at the moment because i dont have any sort of lid, however i planned to add one anyway to help with evaporation

Should i even use a skimmer if i dont add any corals?

    My new 20 gallon setup

Plus I have used this skimmer in tanks before and it has always filled the water with an ungodly amount of bubbles. I think i just need a new one [emoji28]

    My new 20 gallon setup

Well i turned off the skimmer because i found it distracting and I have a done some research suggesting the cycle will go faster/better, something to that effect, if left off. I just have to travel an hour to the closest fish store so I'll make a more concrete decision on stocking when im there...

    My new 20 gallon setup

Well today marks thefirst week of cycling my tank. I dont have a test kit because mine dissapeared. However, i feel like i can cycle the tank properly and I will get another one before i add any animals to make sure the water is safe. But this is the tank so far. Im really loving the new LED

New - Looking for fish advice for a 36 Gallon Bowfront

Personally i love live bearers. If you added some live plants, or even plastic ones, and maybe some plattys guppies and swordtails, you could do a live bearer tank. I would start with three each, two females and one male, and after a while they will repopulate and fill up your tank. They are...

New - Looking for fish advice for a 36 Gallon Bowfront

The only thing about danios corys tetras and the rasboras are that they are schooling fish, so you'd need a decent group, at least 5 or so, for them to be happy. With adequate biological filtration you could get a few of everything! Except anglefish. They get pretty big and in my opinion should...

    My new 20 gallon setup

Alright, most od the new equipment is in and installed. However, the protein skimmer makes the entire tank be covered in bubbles. Ive tried adjusting the flow and the pump isnt adjustable. Any ideas?

    My new 20 gallon setup

UPDATE: So the live rock came in today, as well as a new hydrometer, so I went ahead and filled up the tank. Tomorrow the new LED and filter should be in tomorrw and ill keep y'all posted. New pumps will be in Monday. The water is pretty dirty due to the samd being used previously and it looks...

    My new 20 gallon setup

Hey guys, after a bit of a break I plan on getting back into keeping saltwater fish. Here is my 20 gal I just set up with everything i had laying around that still worked. I am waiting on more supplies to come in so i can finish it. I plan on getting more live rock, upgrading the light, adding a...
