    Callamanus Treatment Not Working?

Thank you! I left the Levamisole in my main tank for three and a half days and finally all of the worms are now gone, but I'm not sure if I will use that method again. While all 20+ of my fish in my tropical tank survived through treatment and were totally fine, the goldfish tank that I also...

    Injured betta

He's just in a small container, maybe half a gallon, until I figure out where to put him. I do have buckets (about three gallons) and an empty five gallon tank, but I have no idea where he would recover best. The water level is about three inches high and he seems to be doing better with it...

    Injured betta

Today the divider in my ten gallon betta tank somehow got slanted and one male betta managed to squeeze into the others side. When I got home, one of them was already very injured. His fins are shredded, he has a lump (bite mark?) on his spine, and his lips are very swollen. I've fixed the...

    Callamanus Treatment Not Working?

I discovered some of my fish had Callamanus worms, so after research I ordered Levamisole in Vermisol pigeon dewormer powder. I began this treatment about 24 hours ago. I gave my 36 gallon tank 5 grams to get the correct dosage recommended by some sites, turned off the lights, removed carbon...

    Super aggressive molly

One of my male mollies has suddenly become extremely aggressive. He was terrorizing all fish in my 36g community tank, chasing them and biting them... I decided to move him to my goldfish tank (that is about 75 degrees because my apartment is so hot) just to see how he would do, and he bit...

Platy with Red Spot on Side

Hi! I had a few platies die about a month ago, and then a male swordtail developed a big orange tumor on his side and died. After that, all of my fish seemed fine (20+) for a month, though I did have a few fry die off unexpectedly last week. I had treated my fish for internal parasites because...

    Platies rapidly dying

The swordtail did die today :( Looking closer at his body, the tumor bump became like a huge open hole in his body once he was dead. Im not sure if thats normal, but I began the parasite treatment. Should I also give them anti-bacterial medication sometime? Thank you!

    Platies rapidly dying

I have little apple snails and little cone snails in the gravel, but there are tons of them. I'll try to take out as many as I can. Should I also try taking out the pleco since he is scaleless? Thanks! I'll start treating the tank tonight. I don't see the swordtail with the tumor, I am pretty...

    Platies rapidly dying

Would API General Cure be safe for young fry? I haven't done salt baths only because I'm assuming most of the fish are infected and I would have to do all 25 or so. Should I just add extra salt to the entire tank instead? I would take the fry out to treat the adult fish but they are flashing now...

    Platies rapidly dying

I don't mean to pester anyone but today the tumorish bump is even bigger/more red. I'm not sure he will be able to recover, he has stopped eating.

    Platies rapidly dying

No, I just noticed the growth when I got home today... it has definitely never been there before today. It literally sticks out from the side of his body.

    Platies rapidly dying

Fish Suddenly Dying + Tumor on Swordtail Hello, I noticed last week one of my fish was acting lethargic/laying on the bottom of his tank and breathing rapidly. I put him in my quarantine tank and it died overnight, but all other fish appeared healthy. Two days ago another of my male platies...

Molly with crusty/dry scales on head

Maybe its just some random genetic thing for this type of molly coloring, he still has shown no change since the fungus treatment and I had raised the temperature of my tank and added extra salt a while ago, and that didn't change it either. I just looked at him really closely and his crusty...

    Will Metronidazole harm fry?

Hi! I noticed one of my adult fish seems a little bloated and has whiteish poo, but no other fish in my main tank have these symptoms. However, I keep reading to go ahead and treat the whole tank if you might suspect parasites - but I have about 20 two week old molly and platy fry in that tank...

Molly with crusty/dry scales on head

Okay great, thanks! I messaged her and am waiting for a response, but from her similar thread's pictures our mollies look exactly the same - even down to their natural coloring. Maybe it is just the way they naturally are for some reason, hopefully!

Molly with crusty/dry scales on head

Update, I've been treating my molly with the anti fungal/parasite medicine for the last few days in his hospital tank with high heat and he still looks the same. I have no idea what it is, as it looks pretty gross... though he is almost overly hyperactive and has lots of energy. I was able to...

Molly with crusty/dry scales on head

Hi! My mother recently surprised me by buying some fish for me - one of which is a male molly. When I got him, I noticed that his head has sort of dry/crusty scales that are paler than the rest of his body, just on top and around his face. While it looks kind of weird, he is super active and...

    Betta with torn fins

The tank was cycled for a few days before adding him with old gravel and water from an already established tank, but I checked the water levels last night and the nitrites were a little high - not quite .25 but not 0 either... I'll do a couple 1/3 water changes today and tomorrow until it gets...

    Betta with torn fins

Hi! I bought a new betta fish two weeks ago and he is happily living in a 2.5 gallon aquarium by himself with one little live plant, one fake plant, and a floating betta log thing. It does have a filter and I've been changing about 3/4 of the water each week. He is feisty and enjoys watching...

    Ich on Dropsy Recovering Goldfish

Thanks! I do have the API test kit, I've been checking the levels often and the ammonia and nitrite levels have been consistently at 0. The nitrates are between 20-30 or so, even with vaccumming the gravel. The comet fry will eventually be returning to the pond, but since it is starting to...

    Ich on Dropsy Recovering Goldfish

Hi! I have a cold water 15 gallon tank that held two small fantail goldfish that I've had for over six months. The tank is cycled, and meters have been reading fine. Two weeks ago, my boyfriend's mom gave us 4 tiny comet goldfish fry to keep for her for a few months (They're about 3/4" long and...
