My only suggestion would be to get better test kits and not use the test strips. API is good for a beginner or you take it up a step with red sea, nyos, or salifert my top 3 favorite test kits right there. Other than that everything else looks good to me.

Speaking from experience skip the marineland it sucks. Currently in using a Kessil 160 over my 29 Gallon and absolutely love it. I ha e also used the Chinese led lights you can get off eBay for like $80-100 I liked that light as well.

Way over stocked 4 would be pushing it. Personally I would go with a sump so you can go with in sump skimmer rather than a HOB in sump do a better job at removing organics from the water because they have more contact time with the water but it is totally up to you.

Starve the cyano, it survives on light and nutrients. Cut the lights off for 3 days and do so 50% water changes and after that keep up on tank maintenance and you should be okay. Ways to keep cyano from coming back, feed less and water changes especially in a system that small. Sent from my...
