    This algae is purple and stringy with lots of bubbles in it thoughts possibly cyano or dinos..? Any ideas? And how should I get it off the sun coral? Soft bristled toothbrush(unused obviously)??

    Hard to say with LEDs.. I just upgraded my biocube 14 to LEDs. I used 12 3watt Crees and am very happy with it. Bright enought to house anything. I have sps and a clam in there. I got the dimmable which I highly suggest so you can acclimate your corals to the lighting to prevent any bleaching...

    Cutting the top off of a 2 liter bottle works really well. Put it over the sun coral and add rods food and put the cap on. Leave for 30-45 mins.

    Also sun corals can be difficult since they require target feeding regularly. You also must make sure each polyp eats.

    Yes you still need to acclimate any living thing you put in your tank as the water in your tank and the fish store most certainly won't be the same.
