Not sure was still kind of reading on them. I know there are some dwarf species but was wondering if even they got a tad big to have several in a 55g?

If I got a couple cichlids in differen types/colors how many would fit in a 55g comfortably? They seemed interesting and active from what I observed in the store

Yea I saw some cichlids when I went this morning they did look super quick and active. Didn't know too much about them though was in the process of googling them too since I'm slow at work

Tiger barbs ok in this tank size what might be good tank mates for them as I hear they can be a bit aggressive sometimes

Oh ok lol. Yea the ones I saw at the store looked neat but def weren't full grow . They looked to be about 6" only and from I understand they get much bigger.

Didnt know that about the bala since I haven't read much about them since that was going to be a project for much later in the future. Guess I'll need a much much bigger tank

Yea ok haha. I'll have to look at getting some clown loaches at the end of the year when I get a bigger aquarium. Only have room for a 55g at the moment and even it barely fits. Eventually would love to do a really large tank and have a bala shark too. They look really neat. But that's to far...

Well originally I was planning on getting a rainbow shark with a few others but I heard 55g is the minimum for a rainbow shark. So I don't know that I want to eat up all that tank space on one fish and just use that to do a school of something brighter and active that will school around? I dont...

Thanks very much for the tip I've got the 55g and stand so I'm going to check out the ammonia first thing tomorrow morning to fill it up and start cycling

is a kings hardware near my area and i called the guy there about the pure ammonia he said its 10% ammonia hydro-oxide. this is ok? he said it didnt have dyes, scents, or surfactants though. is this the same thing you guys have been talking about?

Have a 55g that has been out of use for awhile and want to start it up again. Anyone have any cool ideas for what I could stock it with to have some variety and neat fish to watch? Any ideas as far as substrate or habitat? Want to keep it looking real natural. About to start my fish less cycle...

Yea I'm familiar with Cycling and am actually about to get a bottle of pure ammonia from ace over the next day or two (does anyone know what brand or type it was at ace?) before I even get the aquarium. That way as soon as I get the aquarium I can put my sand decor and start cycling right away...
