    Additional lighting for fluval edge...

Hi there I've got a fluval edge 46l which I have planted and I'm looking to add some additional lighting to supplement the stock LEDs. I'm thinking some nice led light strips would be ok to sit on the top. I've seen TMC do a range of Grobeams but they are quite expensive. Does anyone have a...

    Setting up 10g Betta tank

Lighting requirements is the light intensity Low (stock lighting) Moderate High The better your lighting the better your plants will do. If your keeping standard low maintenance plants I wouldn't worry about the substrate too much. Java fern is a good one to start with. You can also use...

newb to freshwater and planted tanks

Plant substrate, root tabs When I can find somewhere to get it I'd like the frosted glass film for the back it helps add depth without having a cheap looking background or just black. Seachem is a good brand for plant ferts Are you aquascaping straight away?

newb to freshwater and planted tanks

Hey man I don't think I can cover all your questions with the answers you may need but.... 1) not sure too much light will be a massive problem apart from the initial algae blooms that may occur. 2) I'd say in a newly planted aquarium you wouldn't want a strong flow as this could uproot the...

    Fluval edge 46l Aquascape

Was planning on designing the hard scape tonight ready for collecting plants tomorrow but I have now got a doubt regarding the Stand I was planning on using. It takes my weight which should be easily heavier than the tank even when full. Or I could place some MDF board underneath to help...

    Brighton, UK?

I'm doing a planted aquarium nothing large. In need of some nice rock, decent plants and for fish I'm thinking along the lines of galaxy rasboras, zebra otocinclus, and so on. Visited the maidenhead aquatics today but I wasn't a huge fan to be honest. Any recommendations?

How To Keep Drift Wood From Floating

Your best option would be to find a container large enough to submerse your wood before hand. When you put the wood in fully underwater Weight it down with a rock or some kind of weight and leave it. Eventually it will become water logged and then it would no longer float I'd also be inclined...

Very true. Fish tanks have a very calming effect. You will find yourself sitting, watching them for hours with your back to the TV.
