    130W enough for a 29G?

I think I have made up my mind to get the Tek-light 4x24 (96W) T5 fixture. From what I have read and the pictures I have seen, it will be more than enough for the 29G. What I don't understand is how 96W of T5 can be better than 130W of compacts. Can anyone explain this to me? I guess it has to...

    130W enough for a 29G?

Is there such thing as too much light for a tank? The 260W fixture for the 30G sounds like a lot. I don't want to do anything to jeopardize the health of my fish and soon to be BTA.

    130W enough for a 29G?

I found a hood with 260W PC. I am guessing this will be enough light for whatever I would like to get.

    130W enough for a 29G?

Even the BTA? I have heard that they do well under standard flourescents. I was under the impression that they were less demanding when it came to lighting. Oh well. Thanks a lot. Anybody else? My LFS said that the BTA would just need power compacts, so I assumed this was the best to get.

    130W enough for a 29G?

I am looking into upgrading my lights. I plan on getting a BTA and was wondering if 130W was enough light for it. It will be in a 29 gallon tank with 50 lbs live rock and 30 lbs live sand. I was looking at a new fixture and was wondering if this is a good deal? I was also planning on adding a...

Power Compacts for a 12 gallon?

I read somewhere that a BTA would do just fine under flourescent lights. Yes, I am planning on putting a clown in at the same time as the anemone. Another question, will VHO lights fit in a regular flourescent fixture? I also have a 30 gallon reef tank that has flourescents in it. I was just...

Power Compacts for a 12 gallon?

A friend just gave me an Eclipse 12 gallon acrylic tank. The hood has power compact lights in it and I was wondering what kind of bulbs I would need to keep an anemone. I will probably just start out with a BTA. It will be months before I put it in, but could someone tell me exactly what kind of...

    Which power filter?

I have all of the above and my water parameters are always fine. If I decide to remove the biowheel, do i just pull it right out? Will that not signifcantly reduce the amount of benificial bacteria in my tank? Thanks for the help.

    Which power filter?

I have a Red Sea Prizm Pro Deluxe. I know that a lot of people don't like them, but mine works great. It pulls some really nasty stuff out of the water. My nitrates are at 0 every time I test them, about once a week. Will the bio-wheel be a problem in time or if I were going to have a problem...

    Which power filter?

How about the Skilter, the power filter with the built in protien skimmer? Would that be a good idea. Also, why are the bio-wheels not good for SW? I have a 29G Eclipse Reef Tank. Should I remove the bio-wheel? Thanks.

    Which power filter?

I need to know what the appropriate power filter size is to use on a 40G reef tank. It will probably have about 75 lbs of LR and live sand. I was looking at the Marineland Emperor Bio-wheel filters. Any suggestions? Thanks.

    What to feed Lawnmower blenny?

I have a Lawnmower blennie that doesn't like to eat. He seems happy, always swimming from rock to rock and checking me out. I have tried to feed him the algae sheets, but he doesn't seem interested at all. He doesn't eat flake food either. I have never seen him grazing on the algae in the tank...
