That sounds not so bad but still is frustrating. I have had no problems adding fish straight to my tank before so I can't relate but everyone stresses the importance of a qt tank. I have plastic 10g with an extra heater and light but no filter. Hopefully it works.
Thank you so much for the input...
What are the requirements for a quarantine tank? Do I need a filter? Heater? How long fo you usually keep a fish quarantined? I have never detour delt with one
Thanks for help
Wow that's awesome. I'm surprised your water is clear with all that driftwood. How long have you been keeping fish? I see what you mean now with the height.
I personally do a 25% water change every week but some people do more then that. I don't think it's necessary but I heard if you have discus it is. I have had no problems with 25% tho. Just make sure you dechlorinate the water before you put it in. :)
Can you post a pic of your tank? I would love to ssee it.
I had the same problem with my angels. One would bully the other two. He ended up biting off some of their fins. I just traded mine in.
The gourami is a labyrinth fish which means it has an organ that allows it to breathe air. So that is normal. I had 3 three spotted gourami and one bullied the other two. There was no damage but the two that were picked on seemed miserable so I traded them in. I only have one now :( I love...
Also, do you plan on adding live plants? If so you probably want a new hood? If not then you should be fine, as long as your positive it won't fall in.
Good luck
I think as long as you do weekly water changes you should be fine. Just make sure that you research what you put in the tank so you don't put anything in there that requires soft water.
Good luck
I feel like i'm limited to what I can do because of the plants rooted down in the back. Is there any way to move plants without hurting them? Also I think I need to add more substrate. I only have about an inch and a half down. I have two pieces of drift wood in the tank but they don't really...
I agree with you totally. It seems like every aquascape I see is elevated on the sides with a trench/ravine in the middle. That has to be the way to do it. Any ideas of what I should do with the big piece of slate? I appreciate the advice.
I haven't seen those yet. I'm going to check them out. Thanks. My green barbs haven't bothered anyone either. They are also a hybrid of the tiger barb. I love the barbs, I don't know why. I think it would be awesome to have a tank full of schools of different species of barbs.
Would this be to much for a 40g breeder tank?
5 rosy barbs
5 tiger barbs
5 green barbs
5 corys
2 eclipse/sun catfish
1 gourami
Do all barbs get along?
Thanks forty for input!
Ok thanks. It's seems wierd to me tho because this is the first time it has happened to me in 1 year. I just introduced the corys not to long ago and they're doing fine. Are the green barbs really sensitive?
I just bought 6 beautiful green barbs (puntis semifasciolatus) and put them in my 40g display. They seemed very happy during the day and looked great schooling around in my tank. Every morning when I wake up one is dead, only one each night. I'm down to 3 now. I don't know what the problem is...
Whats up guys?
I just bought 6 green barbs (puntis semifasciolatus) from a lfs and one died overnight. It looks like his bladder busted out of his side. Does anyone know what could have caused this?
