KH low, stable Ca and Mag

How about using reef fusion for my KH? I still have a litter left and I want to use it before buying reef builder. Do I have to dose the same amount as my calcium or no? I noticed that my KH is getting consumed more than my calcium.

KH low, stable Ca and Mag

The tank is a redsea reefer 425xl with at least 50 corals in there. I have been using a doser everyday with Seachem products - 40ml of CA, 40ml of KH and 45ml of Mag. Using redsea and salifert test kits, my test results this morning was CA = 420, KH = 7, Mg = 1350. How can I increase the KH...

Getting rid of this aggressive coral

I need help on getting rid of this agressive coral that's taking over my rock work and killing other coral. I don't know the name of this coral though. But I have the picture of it. Any ideas will be appreciated. Sent from my SM-G900W8 using Tapatalk

    Solid precipitate on my sump

Ok I'll try it to put it in the first compartment where the drain, skimmer and gfo reactor and see if that works. Sent from my SM-G900W8 using Tapatalk

    Solid precipitate on my sump

I have the lines placed on my 3rd compartment of my sump where the return pump is at.

    Solid precipitate on my sump

Is 8.5dkh too much? I remember when I stopped dosing my alkalinity would dip down to 5dkh.

    Solid precipitate on my sump

I used to dose both when I was using reef crystal as my salt. Now that I switched to kent salt, it's calcium was really high so I stopped dosing my calcium supp and continue my alk.

    Solid precipitate on my sump

I've been dosing for ~6 months now and I just recently cleaned my sump due to its white solid deposits on the glass that took me a day to scrubbed it off. Right now I'm using kent salt and it gives me fairly high calcium reading and a low calcium. So I dose my tank with aquavitro (eight.four)...

    Raising KH

Ok. Just finished the tset and I got the same results as yesterday. Hmmm I'm going to reduce my KH to 35ml and calcium to 15 ml and see if that will affect tomorrow's readings.

    Raising KH

My calc and KH is still not stable after 35% water change. I was dosing 35ml of KH and 20 ml of calc every 12 hrs and my readings were ok until water change. July 24 - KH 7.7, calc 430 July 27 - kh 7.7, calc 420 July 29 - weekly water change July 30 - kh 7.7, calc 350 July 31 - kh 7.7, calc 400...

    Raising KH

Or should i do a big water change and see if that helps my KH problem?

    Raising KH

I think my surface agitation is pretty good enough lol. I have a tunze pump 1073.040 as my return pump and wp40 facing up. I'll try to adjust my KH later when I get home.

    Raising KH

Tested my water this morning again and results are KH 7.7 and calc 425. I think no matter what I do my tank doesn't want to have a high KH. Should I decrease the dose of my calcium to 15 ml every 12 hrs?

    Raising KH

Once my KH runs out I will definitely try using baking soda. It's getting too expensive to buy gallons of part 1 and part 2 bionic now especially it's not staying at the levels where I want it to be.. hmm which one is pure baking soda?

    Raising KH

I would want to keep the KH around 9dkh but then the calcium would go down.

    Raising KH

2 days ago i Started to add calc 20 cc every 12 hrs and increase kh to 40cc every 12 hrs. Current readings are ph-8.1, kh 7.7, calc-430, mag 1400.. KH should be going up, isnt?
  22. daney90

    Raising KH

Ok I'll adjust my doser this midnight to dose 40 ml of kh. And yes I'm using 4 ml water to test KH using salifert.
  23. daney90

    Raising KH

I never stopped dosing 35ml every 12 hrs. I know, why is my KH staying the same? I actually tested twice because I was in doubt, but it's KH is 7.7 in both readings.

    Raising KH

Ok I just tested my water. I haven't started adding calcium yet. But I'm going to set my doser now. Is it 6 hours after dosing KH? So the readings are July 20: KH 7, calc 500 July 21: KH 7.7, calc 500? July 22: KH 7.7, calc 500 July 23: KH 7.7, calc 470 July 24: KH 7.7, calc 400

    Raising KH

Just a quick update on my tank. It's been 4 days now that I stopped putting calcium in my tank to raise the alkalinity. Today's readings are KH 7.7 calcium 470 mag 1400 pH 8.1 now I am wondering why my KH is staying at 7.7dkh for the last 3 days. Any ideas? What should I do now?
