Today I checked on my discus pairs as I changed the water. The cube continues to be working well for them. They lay eggs about every week now. Previously the babies had strayed too far and not been taken care of properly in the bigger tanks. Interestingly also they are acting more as a community...
And I know you may think that it's too small for this many fish but it's perfect. I have a lot of fish experience and it is perfect.

So I recently build my 240g malawi tank which frees up my cube to house all my discus. The tank is beautiful and the fish so happy.

So I have had a fence over new eggs for a couple of days. The disadvantage is that the parents can't pick out unfertilized eggs. But some should hatch. Any ideas after that? Leave male in or out?

Oooh I forgot about the fence. I will. They are pretty much all fertilized (brown) but the new tank freaks them out.

No I think the breeding female died by suiciding out on the filter tube. I have them in their own tank now as I'm trying to breed the discus and they don't lay anymore. I will need to get more.

I don't even know what a pre filter is. I have since taken all the other fish out, the huge log and most of the plants. Changed the gravel to sand. There's another pair now that started laying eggs. Still after all this time wrigglers won't attach to the parents and just die.

They are so inbred by humans to get them to that blue brilliance that they are weak fish. They like to just die often. Best to hair get a stack of them as some will die off.
