What do you run on your cichlid tanks? We run two fluval 305's and two 500 gph powerheads with attached sponge filters. Would like to know what others do to give me an idea of my options if I want to change things up. Thanks

I agree but now is it a 'Ilala Gap', 'eureka', or 'otter point' jack? All three of these look really close to him. I mean I can't just go pick up any jack female out of a tank and bring her home for him and say here ya go I want to make sure I'm getting just the right one. That's where I'm stuck.

A World Of Fish was a average shopping experience. Lots of tanks not too much floor space. Workers were good at asking if you had questions. Aqualand was a larger store freshwater and salt water tanks were in separate areas plus a room full of tank and stand set-ups. Staff didn't hound you but...

Does anybody know anything about Go Aquatics or The Fish Guy Shop?

I was able to get to A world of fish and Aqualand today. I am going to try to hit up as many of the others as I can.

I am in the cities till Wed. Jan 23 and then ill be back next weekend. I have found a few shops with cichlids but would like to hit up more. I am always on the hunt for more females or that special male. Can anyone recommend a shop or two.

The fry in my hang on are yellow and white tail acei that are showing tail loss. They are in the box with benga yellow fry all let go at the same time yet benga are larger. Could the benga be nipping at them?

I had a problem weeks ago with my juvenile snow white zebras losing the movement in their tail fin or it roting away. They were kept in our 40g grow-out a few juveniles were affected also. But now in my hang-on fry tank I have noticed that my yellow and white tail acei fry have lost their tail...

If I had to go either way I would also lean to the zebra side. When compared to my others in the tank his body shape is very similar and he really likes to shimmy around my female ob zebra. Not saying that's the deal breaker but just throwing it out.

That's what I was kind of thinking in those two. But that other my guess is red top hongi but I don't want to just guess. I am in need of females for some of my males and I don't want just any female so this helps.

These are some of my originals which colored up either months ago and one just not too long ago. Of course when I bought them I didn't write anything down so instead of guessing I would like to ask you.

There have now been no deaths for a few days now. I came to the conclusion that before I moved it down to the basement I cleaned it too well. I was so sick of the brown from the sun that I went overboard, and well the tank was like new and had to cycle again. Live and Learn.

I tested all water areas and all were fine including ammonia. I'm treating water anyways. I just don't get what's going on.

Here goes. I've had a 30g grow-out tank for some time now. Only problem before was a batch of albino zebras that just had issues, so they were removed. I am now watching them die off one by one and fast. They tip to their sides, swim wildly in circles and gasp. They have plenty of air and water...
