When he was in my mums tank the tank was very low lite and he never done this, could it just mainly be the big change in lighting conditions? Good point he might not be used to me yet.
Sorry when I said the thing about the water changes I said that because a lot of people recommend I do 25% a...
How long have you had him- well he was my mums tank it was only 50L and over stocked with goldfish so I moved him to my tank, he was in my mums tank for about 2 years and he's been in my tank for maybe 3 months
Water changes- I used to do 75% a week but iv eased up to 75% every 2 weeks- if you...
Have a few fish in my 200L but the one I'm getting worried about is my weather loach.
I have 2 young weather loach and there fine stress free and happy while I have an adult one who is getting very stressed when I walk past the tank or up to it, he literally panics like crazy.
My tank light is...
Okay iv tested my water again and here are the results:
Ammonia: 1ppm again (liquid test)
No2: just over 10ppm (strip test)
No3: just over 250ppm (strip test)
I'll go to my local fish place and I'll get it tested in a liquid test
Iv looked at this quite a lot and people say its rubbish but on all the tanks iv used a Llittle stress zym, when I say a little the bottle recommends I use 30ml or something and I use 5ml and I get these kind of results :)
My 200L took 3 weeks to cycle then I re done it (new filter etc) and that took 3 weeks to cycle.
I'm not sure ill test for that tomorrow or Wednesday when the ammonia has fallen a little more
The last tank I done the ammonia started to fall with in 2 days and that's with no seeded media.
I'm replacing the carbon in my 200L tomorrow should I put that carbon into the tank that is cycling? Then remove it after 3-4 days.
The carbon is really really cheap so I replace it every 2-3...
Iv been cycling my tank (fishles) for 3 days, the ammonia has only fallen 1 ppm any ideas on why it's taking so long?
Iv cycled tanks before so I have the right conditions for the tank
I don't know what I'm getting any more, I was looking at rasboras glowlight They're nice, I'd get them or a species of them. I'm in no rush am I? Iv got 4-8 weeks to make my choice
Ah that's good then I will be careful with the current.
Same I can't wait. once the tank is decorated I'll upload a picture that's only if I remember ;)
That's not eaten- ah that's good then I remove all the food that isn't eaten, yeah the lights are only on for 7 hourse and iv had no problem with algae. I think that's it really. Thank you for your help :)
I'm just going ti stick with the substrate as i think it sounds good :P
The current- would they be okay with a small current? I don't want there to be any dead areas on the tank
You don't have to but if you do thank you.
Okay so from what I have gathered the ingredients of the food enter the tank
I was told phosphate enters the tank and also silica - I'm more interested in this as iv learnt this is a factor that encourages algae.
If I helps at all the reason why I...
No I would like to apologize you said "serious" and I thought you meant "is this a serious question?"
Sorry.
I realize my mistake.
Yes I guess that is simple logic thank you
I'm guessing as they are small they will dislike a current? I'm going to buy 2 or 3 power heads but they are going to be very weak ones. (maybe 500 L/Hr maybe less)
What kind of substrate will they like? As I'm having no plants it won't have to be 3 inches deep.
I might go for a sand mixed...
