Well the lights are fluorescent and 10watts each so you are putting 2wpg so I think plants in the low to medium should be fine. Just a warning though, I had them on my 10 gallon and condensation rusted everything inside the hood ad eventually blew the lights out. After like 6 months.

Yeah I guess it all depends on many factors. I remember when I was a kid I had 20 long that my dad stocked and I never remember him doing the nitrogen cycle. And all the fish survived. But with my 10 gallon It took a little less than 3 months to cycle. And in the process I lost 1 Molly, 5 otos...

If I were you I would do a fish less cycle. Fish in is a pita!! If I had to cycle my tank again I would do a fish less.

Not that I know of. But I don't think is needed all you gotta do is keep testing and doing water changes daily if you have to in order to keep everything under control. And with time all of your readings should be zeros. Good luck!

I know that, thats why they are sitting in water and since I can't afford to get them sandblasted, I'm going to scrub them with a wire brush every other day. Btw they are manzanita branches. I got a ton hahaha

I know it's kinda hard to tell. At first I was conviced that it's in fact manzanita because they came off a flower arrangement of a wedding. But I started googling pics and they are not the same. Mind you this look like fresh branches and the ones I saw where almost white! I'm going to wait for...

Nerite snails are the way to go.

Scrape them. Good luck I heard that they are a pain to take them out.

Well look on your tank later on. My platy has been popping baby since last night :/ so far I've seen her give birth to 3 babies last night and 2 this morning.

U gotta have the same results for a couples of days. So If I were you I would keep testing for at Least one more week and if u keep getting the same results(no nitrites or ammonia) u should be fine.
